Etsy Weekend: Organic Bamboo T-shirt

Today I followed a link from this gorgeous little 100% silk Daisy Bra. It is totally unsuitable for a woman built like I am, but so very pretty. Each bra is made to order, styled after a lovely flower. Just so beautiful….
Then, I found something perfect for Pretty By Nature - an organic bamboo jersey t-shirt - the knickers are also available.

Sally T-Shirt
$38
This shirt was inspired by Holly Golightly of Breakfast At Tiffany’s fame. It has fluttery bell-shaped sleeves and is gathered at the bottom. Here’s a bit about the advantages of using a fabric like organic bamboo jersey, which is, if you’ve ever had the opportunity to touch it, incredibly soft and silky.
Bamboo jersey is 60% more water absorbent than cotton, and has a cooling effect. It is naturally anti-bacterial and will not hold odour. Like other natural fibers, it allows the body to breathe as the fabric absorbs the sweat away from the body.
Sounds perfect for Summer-time wear, doesn’t it? Each Sally T-shirt is made to order, so contact the seller for specifics. For more information or to see what else the Hopeless shop carries, click here.

Enamore is a company that designs and produces cute and sexy lingerie made from sustainable, vintage, and organic materials. They are located in the UK and all UK orders ship free. The online catalog is full of cute modernized pin-ups, classic pin-up girls, fully tattooed. These are not your grandpa’s pin-up girls.
I have some cute sets for you to look at. Please excuse the small picture size, I was unable to grab a bigger size, but if you click on the links, you can see them larger.
Bedrock Betty Bra and Knicker Set.
Cute set made of bamboo jersey, with a leopard print. The bra is a soft-type bra, but Enamore will be carrying bras with underwire at the end of the year.
Bamboo Parfait Camisole and Short Gift Box
Black bamboo trimmed with pink. The camisole is cut on the bias. Included in the gift box is a matching garter. Oo la la.
Ruby chemise made from stretchy soya/cotton jersey. I love the deep, richness of this color. This item is currently on sale.

Enamore’s New Green Bra

A new green bra is in the works… Daisy Green Magazine, a British online “ethical” women’s magazine, is partnering with Enamore, an eco-lingerie company, to design and produce a “best ever” ethical bra. By “ethical,” they mean sustainable materials, low carbon footprint production, no sweatshops, as gentle as possible on the environment.

The bra is going to be designed for the fuller bust - C and D cup. The founder of Enamore, Jennifer Ambrose, says the bra will be “beautiful” and “comfortable” - a better choice than what is offered in the current market. The protype will be available in mid-June and I’ll share a photo with you as soon as I find one.

Organic Toggery by Kate D’Arcy

Kate D’Arcy’s Toggery line is “fashion for the environmentally conscious consumer.” Using organic fabrics and sustainable materials like bamboo, D’Arcy designs a line of fashionable essential wardrobe piecesthat can be dressed up or down, depending on your mood or the occasion.
Toggery’s Spring 2009 line features many pieces that adapt to the changes in weather that many areas experience this time of year. Sure, it looks beautiful outside, but when you step out the door, you find that it’s still only 60 degrees. Brr. The best way to beat the shivers is to wear light-weight layers, like this tank and cardigan.

I love how this outfit is both cute and comfortable. This is the way I’d like to dress every day and a quick change of accessories takes this look from day to night.

For those days when it’s finally sunny and warm, you definitely need a sundress. This is one of those versatile pieces that does double-duty on a Spring Break getaway - to the pool, sight-seeing, out for a bite to eat - one sundress suits so many different needs.

I found this while shopping around at Etsy today. It’s the amate top, from the zelaya shop. It’s a raw edge top made of stretchy organic cotton knit, it has a scoop neckline with a low back that’s decorated with an interwoven leaf pattern. It’s available in XS, S, M, or L in black, brown, or natural.

Here are a few more lovely items from the zelaya shop……..

The pebbles also features raw edges and coiled flower-like appliques. It’s available in the same colors, organic cotton, and sizes as the amate top.
manzanilla handbag

The manzanilla handbag measures 17 inches in length, 11 inches in height, and it’s 2 inches wide. It’s made of raw cotton fabric in it’s natural color. The bag has a polka dot design embroidered on the front designed with thread that was dyed with chamomile tea. It has a wooden handle.
You can find more zelaya items here. All items are unique and handmade.

Spring Preview: Loyale

Yes, it’s still pretty cold out for most of the country.
I am sitting here in a sweatshirt with the heat on. But i am dreaming of spring, when things are warm and skirts and tank tops will be acceptable.
So, let’s take a peek at the Spring Collection from Loyale, which is totally grandma chic.

Was I right or not? I love this dress. The print is simply adorable. If it’s too girly, pair it with something more masculine, like a leather jacket.

Chic: Effortlessly casual clothing. The tees are cute, but these two pieces are fantastic. I imagine the smock top tucked into high-waisted jeans and the hoodie top as great weekend gear.

Cost: Hoodie is $84, smock top is $68
