It’s made of a combination of hemp with a little spandex to hold it’s shape. It’s machine washable, too.

Lets see what we can find….

I like this vintage Alfred Werber dress in a unique kimono style. It’s made in a bold color-block type stripe and it’s shown with a white cloth belt, but I think I’d cinch it with something wide and in a contrasting color. This dress is in a size medium-large and it’s listed as being in “great” shape. ’

This dress would be a good choice for the holidays. It’s got that sexy secretary look and comes in a size small. They show it with a medium width belt, but I’d wear it with something wider, with an asymetrical slant, maybe.

I don’t know why, but very few of the vintage dresses that I find are sized larger than a medium. This one is an extra large. You could do so much with this dress – accent it with red, yellow, or something unexpected like a teal-colored belt. It’s made by Periwinkle and it’s in excellent condition.

Here are a couple of examples of the red dresses…..

Ana Tov – This was my favorite of the red gowns. I love the neckline and if I were her, I’d be tempted to wear this dress every day. Her body looks incredible.

Blake Lively – I noticed that this dress was on a lot of the BEST/WORST lists, but I think it’s gorgeous.  Not wearing a necklace was a great choice.

Debra Messing – I like the use of one-shoulder here.  It’s one piece and does not look like it belongs to another dress or like it’s an after thought.

Here is a beautiful vintage Giorgio Armani gown that is both red and one-shouldered. Wow. I love the gathered bodice and the use one-shoulder design works perfectly here.

Giorgio Armani silky gathered stretch jersey bodice gown with asymmetrical, single-shoulder construction and exuberant (and endless) ruffled silk organza skirt. Waist measures 28″, and the bodice’s jersey fabric will stretch to fit most relative bust sizes, the length is 59″. Condition is excellent. Breathtaking.

It’s sized as a 4/6.

Here’s a dress that Bay would love. It’s redesign from an 80’s vintage dress and I found it at Taxi CDC Recycled Wears . It’s knee-length and has an empire waist that they’ve accented in the photo with an obi-style belt.

Today, I’ve got something very different. These vintage pieces are either dyed or have added embroidered pieces attached. The dress below is a good example. It’s a slip that has been treated with a two-tone dye process. It has a tie-dye look to it. (Yes, very flower child-y, I noticed that, too). The slip is very stretchy and works as a US size 6-10 or a AUS 10-14.

Threadhead Creations, an Etsy shop, carries the lovely Grace gown. The dress features darts for shaping and a full, flaring skirt. The dress fabric has an imprint of a floral design. The front has a scoop neckline and the back is open, with criss-cross straps that tie. (My favorite part, I love a dress that makes the wearer look like a beautiful present). 

It’s made from blend of hemp and silk (hemp 85% and silk 15%). The dress is lined with 100% silk. The hemp is chemical and pesticide-free. The silk is wild peace silk. Peace silk is gathered in a way that does not bring harm to the moths, so the silk is a vegan material.

This eco-friendly dress is currently available in sizes 2-14 but the seller can also make the dress in sizes 16 and 18.  I love that the dress is full and able to flatter so many different figure types. It’s shown, at the shop website,  worn with a little bolero-type jacket, which is very cute, but I’d wear it without and cover. Imagine how adorable those straps and that bow would look walking down the aisle.
