Fashion Trends At the 2009 Emmys

I noticed some definite trends in the 2009 Emmy gowns. One was the use of red – it was all over the place. There were also a lot of asymetrical necklines and one-shoulder looks. I’m torn over the one shoulder looks. Sometimes it’s beautiful, but other times it looks like two completely dresses. It doesn’t always flow and it can be very distracting. Do you want to wear a dress or do you want your dress to wear you.
Here are a couple of examples of the red dresses…..

Fashion Trend: High Waistlines

After years of low-cut pants and skirts, a higher waistline is making a comeback. Sometimes the look can be awkward. For example, remember Jessica Simpson in the high-waisted pants? So many comments were made about her weight, but I think her weight was fine. She was just wearing a very unflattering pair of pants.
A skirt is a much easier way to wear the high-waist look. There’s no awkward fit through the crotch and the skirt makes the body look longer and leaner than a pair of high-waisted pants.

I love jeans. I love the fit, the style, and the comfort. I love the versatility – dress them up, dress them down. If you love jeans like I do, then use the following tips to find your perfect pair…..
*If you’ve got a slim boyish figure, then go for the low-cut denims. Your figure type can most definitely pull them off.
*Ladies with an apple shape should look for jeans with a mid-rise, rather than a low-rise. I’m an hour glass who is currently apple-y and I hate having to constantly pull my pants up. The mid-rise fit is more comfortable …read more
