Chic: My sister asked for some slippers this Christmas so I’m going to continue to slowly introduce my family to green living, by giving as many green gifts as I can this year. These look like cozy ballerina slippers and are made by Isotoner, the company we all know.

Green: Made with a bamboo bamboo polyester blend, they’re sure to be the softest slippers ever.

It’s usually plain and sad. This set, from Brook There, has pretty lace on it. It also looks super comfortable, since it’s made from bamboo.

New Fabric: Seaweed!

These pretty pyjamas are made of SeaCell, this new fabric made out of seaweed. I will do a terrible job explaining, so here is what the site says:

SeaCell is a Lyocell fiber made with seaweed. Seaweed contains minerals of the sea - carbohydrates, amino acids, fats, and vitamins such as Vitamin A, E and Carotinoid. Seaweed has long been used in cosmetics to improve blood supply, activate the metabolism, and promote skin renewal to preserve skin’s smoothness and firmness. These active ingredients that promote skin renewal are incorporated in the SeaCell fiber and are released into the skin upon contact.

I’m wondering how soft it would be. I do think bamboo is incredibly soft, so I imagine seaweed might be the same. These pieces have some cotton and elastic added to make them comfier, as well.

What I Want This Valentine’s Day–Organic Undies!

February 11, 2008 by admin

So this organic cotton underwear by Buenostyle would never fall under the category of “sexy”. Or even “lingerie” for that matter. But they are super cute, colorful and look comfy!

organic undies

I really like how these look boycut, but are sitting lower on the models’ hips. And who doesn’t think the cherry and the “Eat Organic” message is adorable?

They are $16.00 a pair and can be ordered through the Greenloop.

Victoria’s Secret? She’s Going Green!

September 9, 2007 by admin

victorias secret greenOkay, I apologize for the seriously lame title. But it’s true! The lingerie giant, Victoria’s Secret recently announced its plans for a ‘green apparel’ line that will be available in spring 2008.

The line will include tanks, tops and accessories made out of organic cotton.

“This is definitely the right next step,” a spokesperson for Victoria’s Secret Pink confirmed to The Daily. “Customers love our brand and are very aware of the environment right now. Everyone is conscious of it.”

The spokesperson also admitted the line is looking for other venues through which it can raise public awareness about the environment and other issues.

This is such a great move! Heidi and organic cotton…totally hot.
