Korres Grooming Products For Men

Men’s skincare has made great strides in the last few years. Men no longer see having a regular grooming regime as something that only females do.
The reason behind this? I think it’s a combination of good role models, good ad campaigns, and good women who steer their men in the right direction. Real men know it’s important to moisturize and wear sunscreen. They know that an aftershave does not have to sting to work. Botanicals and natural ingredients do the job of balancing the skin gently.
Korres products for men incorporate ingredients like Marigold, Aloe, Jojoba, and Vitamin E to mositurize and protect a man’s skin. The line contains no Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals, Phthalates, GMO, and Triclosan.

Absinthe Men’s Shave Cream features:
*Absinthe extract: Contains essential oils and flavonoids to smooth skin and protect from irritations with anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and refreshing properties.
*Jojoba oil: Moisturizes and softens.
*Vitamin E: A moisturizing antioxidant.
*Active Aloe®: A moisturizing antioxidant that supports the skin’s immune system.

Marigold & Ginseng Aftershave Balm features:
*Ginseng extract: Enables the delivery of water and nutrients to the skin, thus improving its tonicity and firmness.
*Marigold: Soothes and heals wounds.
*Active Aloe: A moisturizing antioxidant that supports the skin’s immune system.
*Hamamelis: An astringent and anti-inflammatory agent.

They are made out of a lightweight material, which makes them better for summer. But with some creative layering, they’ll be great all year long. They are $60.00 each — down from $105.00! You can order the white one here and the striped on here.
John Bartlett’s Off-Grid Fashion Line

John Bartlett is an ecelectic and innovative menswear designer. His style is this clash of preppy and queer aesthetics — think pinstripes and pink!
The best part about Bartlett’s line — which was showcased at NYC Fashion Week — is that he produced the entire collection off-grid. That’s right, there is not one carbon emission to be found anywhere in his pretty penny loafers.
The collection features hand-woven Italian fabrics, hand croheted, stitched and knitted garments using foot-pedal sewing machines. Once produced, the garments were packaged in recycled boxes and transported using biofuel.
Bartlett studied sociology at Harvard before turning toward fashion. His non-traditional background lends itself nicely to his work, which consists of a sleek, traditional silhouette that pulses with life and color when it comes to the fabric selection and the details.
You can read more about Bartlett at NY Magazine and you can also check out slideshows of his Fall and Spring 2007 collections there.
I’m sure a slide show of his spring 2008 collection will be up soon! Also, be sure to check out this great interview with Bartlett by the Fashion Informer.
Bartlett is so off-grid, he doesn’t have his own website. However, he does have a boutique in NYC’s West Village, so if you are ever in town, please go check it out!

A Hip and Functional Man Bag is Hard to Find

My boyfriend, Matt, has been on a serious prowl for the perfect man bag, ever since Jim on The Office carried one to practical perfection. As hard as he is trying, he keeps coming up short. They are either too expensive, too girly, or too impractical.
A man bag is a delicate thing. You need to find the perfect balance between masculinity and function. And, if you’re like me, and want an eco-twist on everything you wear, the process can become much more arduous.
In order to make this process a little easier, here I present to you, a few green man bag choices.
A Hemp Bag

This basic bag from Green Feet is made out of 100% sustainably grown and processed hemp. It’s also waterproof, so your precious computer and documents will be safe and sound, even in a downpour. It’s simple design makes it a fashion chameleon and with it’s all-natural color, you may be called a hippie, but you’ll never be called a girl. And at $47.95, the price sure sounds right.

Celebs like Courteney Cox Arquette, Kevin Costner, Shawn Wayans, Naomi Campbell and Sienna Miller have donned this awesome OmniPeace t-shirt, tank or ball cap. 50% of the proceeds go to Millennium Promise and their efforts to eliminate poverty in Africa by 2025.

Millennium Promise is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating world-wide poverty.
Not only are these tees super hot, they are helping a great cause. You can grab yours at Kitson. The prices vary — sometimes up to as much as $65.00 — but they have a wide variety of products. And you can indulge worry-free because so much of the money you just spent is helping others.
