Eco-Chic Flats From Zoe&Zac

Eco-Chic Flats From Zoe&Zac

I’m a big fan of flip flops. I wear them much of the year, but when the weather turns cold, I need a little something more to keep my toes warm. For me, the natural progression is flip flop to ballet flat. It’s still a slip-on and it’s still on the casual side. Zoe&Zac has a line of inexpensive eco-chic shoes available at Payless shoe Source.  They’ve got both ballet flats and the ballet flat’s sportier cousin – the skimmer.

Affordable, Custom-Made, Organic Lingerie

On the Inside, a lingerie shop at Etsy, carries custom-made lingerie. Many of the items are made with organic materials.
I am more than happy to do custom sizes. I can make most of my designs fit any body! Just drop me a line. Please be certain of your size when you order, as I cannot accept any returns because it is custom work and for hygienic reasons…I’m sure you understand.
If you see a fabric you like, but would like it in a different style, just ask, as I can mix and match many of the fabrics/trims/styles to create something just …read more

Go Organic When Shopping For Baby

Don’t forget to go organic when shopping for baby. A baby’s delicate skin will appreciate the gentler touch of a fabric that is free from toxic dyes or chemicals. The Organic Baby Wearhouse carries a wide selection of baby clothes, bedding, diapers, gifts, skin care, and toys.
Here are a few examples of the stylish, eco-friendly apparel……

Wear Eco-friendly PACT To Support the Cause

Over at PACT, they have an interesting way of setting up their eco-friendly underwear shop. For ease and convenience, you can shop one of three ways:
*Shop by Cause
*Shope by Fit
*Shop by Print
Women have a choice of thong, bikini, or boy short. I chose to shop “Print.” I like this pair of boyshorts called 826 National. They are made of 95% organic cotton  and 5% elastane.  They are available in a solid grey or the pattern shown below. You can find out more about the 826 National literacy project here.

Twisted Twee Home of the Tassle Tee

I like to think of myself as possessing a fairly good sense of humor. That said, sometimes I’m offended by silly things. For example, the first time I saw the toddler Tassle Tee, I was horrified. Now, it just makes me giggle, but I can see where a baby t-shirt with tassles could be considered controversial.
The tees, made by Twisted Twee, in the UK, are meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Your baby will not grow up to be a stripper, just because she wears a tassle-print tee as a baby. Sometimes we take things too literally, when really it’s more fun …read more

Girl Scouts Go Green

School starts soon. That means my Girl Scout, Sarah, is going to get busy with scouting. In our area, the girls start off the year with a camp out at a waterslide park. How fun does that sound?
My girl bridged earlier this year when she joined a group of thousands of other Girl Scouts from around the country with a Bridging walk across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It was a thrilling event for the girls. They handed out handmade keepsakes to the girls they passed on the bridge.
The new Girl Scout catalog came in the mail today …read more

Your Green Wedding – Dress

I haven’t written about Your Green Wedding in awhile, but there’s still lots of Summer left to wed in ………
Threadhead Creations, an Etsy shop, carries the lovely Grace gown. The dress features darts for shaping and a full, flaring skirt. The dress fabric has an imprint of a floral design. The front has a scoop neckline and the back is open, with criss-cross straps that tie. (My favorite part, I love a dress that makes the wearer look like a beautiful present).

It’s made from blend of hemp and silk (hemp 85% and silk 15%). The dress is lined with 100% …read more
