That’s hubby’s new pair of sneakers. He has been on a “sneakers” fix lately. He bought an Atheletic Sports pair from Wal-Mart end of July just for hanging around, and then bought the $15 Starbury sneakers from Steve and Barry’s to find out for himself what the hype is all about. But he’s always wanted a pair of Air Jordan’s so last Friday he finally bought one from Hibbett Sports since it was on sale anyway. This Air Jordan Nike shoes was on sale for $79.99. Great deal might I add. He shared a review to compare Air Jordan’s with the Starbury with me which I am trying to convince him to do in a podcast but he hasn’t budge just quite yet. That review will be posted one way or another so watch out for that

Steve and Barry’s Haulage For The Hubs

My husband didn’t just buy the $15 Starbury sneakers when we stopped at a Steve and Barry’s store from our road trip vacation. He also found some other goodies for himself like novelty shirts and one pair of chino shorts. Steve and Barry’s really do have nice deals on Men’s shorts but most of them were pleated on the front and some have cords on the waist. My husband is particularly picky when it comes to shorts designs which is good. He knows what looks good on him and he knows what he likes. I’ve trained him well, *ahem*, which makes our shopping ventures quite enjoyable
.

FYI, my husband was in the Marines when I met him in California. He served 4 years I think. He got out the year after we got married because we just had a baby and he didn’t want to be sent away overseas coz it meant leaving me all alone with a new baby. So he re-enlisted with the Army..LOL. Anyhooo, it’s true when they say “Once A Marine, Always A Marine”. Serving 8 years in the Army never stopped him from being a part of Semper Fi. So when he saw the military shirts from Steve and Barry’s he searched for the Marines as well. He was happy to have found the red one. And it was only $8.98. HOORAH! He also picked the red stripes polo shirt for the same price.
Stephon Marbury STARBURY Sneakers For The Hubs

Ever since I wrote about the $15 Stephon Marbury sneakers last May my husband has been very interested in getting his own of their high-top pairs. On our drive to NY for his parents’s family reunion party I spied a Steve and Barry’s store down in Utica NY. We decided to to stop and check the store out on our drive home. And so we did, now my dear husband has his own $15 Starbury shoes.

He tried the shoes on and he said “it doesn’t feel like a pair of Nike’s but it will do” . The Starbury collection doesn’t look that bad. He’s quite confident that it would be better for running than the $17 high-top sneakers he bought at Wal-Mart weeks ago. He asked my advice as he often does when shopping
on which color looks better and I picked the red pair. The blue one was ok but not as bold as the red one.

$15 NBA Sneakers : Starbury I High Top Collection

Remember when NBA Star Stephon Marbury declared he is going to create sneakers to make parents’s pockets breathe easier? I vividly remember my reaction. “HALLELUYAH”. For years, I’d roll my eyes when passing by a shoe store and I see sneakers selling for $150 or more. It must be nice to be able to afford those. Hey, my brother has bought his own pairs of Air Jordan’s through the years. As you can imagine, a Bargain shopper like me would’ve said something but I found myself biting my tongue in the process since it’s his money and has worked hard for it. But let’s face it, not everyone could afford a pair of Air Jordan. Or any other expensive shoes endorsed by or created for NBA players that has come forth since then for that matter.
I think it’s about time the parents can feel better about purchasing a pair of sneakers , don’t you think? So what does a $15 sneakers from an NBA player look like? Here are the pictures from the Starbury I High Top collection :
