The consensus for Men’s Fashion in 2009 is to be bold, masculine and adventurous. There are a lot of different ways in achieving these 2009 trends which I would go through with you in this post and throughout the year with articles in the coming days by featuring the celebrities, shopping finds, designers’ collections and so much more. I hope you will find ways to implement them in your wardrobe without losing your own fashion identity. If we really think about it, the best fashion trend that will always be right every year is to not go overboard with the trends that’s plastered in our faces everyday. I’m sure at this point of your life, you have established your style that speaks volume to who you are. You know what looks good on you and what fits your body frame. The trick lies on how you would incorporate the trends without looking like you are trying too hard to look like a model in a runway show or the magazines. Ben Affleck Finally Shaved, YAY!

Ben Affleck must have read my comment *ahem* that I made last week regarding his facial hair. I loved his new hairstyle but his facial hair was another story. I wished that he will shave soon and he did. Ben Affleck looks more handsome than ever .

Digressing from his improved look, Ben Affleck just launched a documentary called Gimme Shelter. The latter is a 4-minute short film documenting the humanitarian crisis currently happening at the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Gimme Shelter hopes to focus on the issues that everyone should be paying attention to instead of just looking away.

Props to Ben Affleck for using his fame for good causes like this. It makes his facial hair issues so superficial but I hope you all appreciate the fact that She Knows Best balances fashion, celebs, grooming, and lifestyles for everyone .

Ben Affleck’s New Look, Yay or Nay?

When I first saw pictures of Ben Affleck’s new hairstyle I thought it wasn’t too bad. It looks cool. It’s different but it suits Ben Affleck. Having said that, I don’t like all that facial hair. He looks rugged which is fine. I’m just not digging all that facial hair. If it was just a goatee perhaps I could warm up to it after a while.

Maybe he’s doing a movie and he has to alter his boyish looks for the character. If that’s the case then fine, I’ll live with it . Like I said, I don’t mind the new hairstyle. Here’s to hoping he’ll shave the facial hair when the movie shoot is done. Or not .

Sean John Bold Chain Jacket, Yay or Nay

Most of the times I could ignore the flashy and extravagant ways of Sean P. Diddy Combs. I even laugh about it. Hey, it’s his money. I’m sure he’s worked hard for it . Until I saw this Sean John Bold Chain Hook Up Jacket. Yowza.

Talk about flashy and tacky. But Sean P. Diddy combs is not wearing it. Um duhhh. But it’s his collection. Technically he’s not wearing it but it kinda describe how Sean’s flashy, extravagant life.

I suppose I should consider the fact that the jacket is called Bold Chain Hook Up Jacket. How else should it look like? I don’t know, maybe it shouldn’t exist at all…hehe. Love the news boy cap though

This is Brad Pitt in the movie ‘Burn After Reading‘ set to release on September 2008. I am quite intrigued by Brad’s boyish hairstyle. You know what else? The blond streaks on top. Sooo fun . C’mon now, even I think it’s stupid to even ask whether this hairstyle is a Yay or Nay. Personally, I quite dig it. How about you guys? Would you be suggesting this  celebrity haircut and streaks to your barber or hair stylist?

True Religion Brand Jeans Floral Print Poplin Shirt, Yay Or Nay?

“WHOAAA, my eyes”, were exactly my words upon seeing this True Religion Brand Jeans Floral Print Poplin shirt. I like floral prints, but to a point. This floral print shirt is just too much, don’t you think? I won’t even wear a dress with this kind of floral print. Too gaudy, too grandmother-ish. Can you imagine yourself in it? Well, if you could, you can find it at Nordstrom for $136. Wheww.

Hello Mr. Wentworth Miller

Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller was in Germany last weekend to get some kind of award from Bravo Supershow. Woohoo for him but I only care about how casually stylish he looked . Interestingly enough, our resident SKB commenter Mikel was asking about the short length ties that Patrick Dempsey and Ashton Kutcher has been sporting lately.  I was about to address the matter until I saw Wentworth Miller sporting a regular length tie with his button-shirt.

I think it’s a matter of preference these days. Kinda like the skinny over wide neckties issue. While George Clooney prefers his wide necktie, David Beckham and Justin Timberlake have no problems rocking their skinny ties. Whatever you’re feeling to wear in a given day I guess.

Hey Mr. Ashton Kutcher, That’s A Lotta Prints

Sorry Ashton Kutcher, you’re cool and all but this plaid blazer with the dotted necktie is just too much for me. Not to mention you wore black trousers with it. The right pants to wear if you’re going for plaid blazer is actually jeans. To go even further, plaid blazer would look good with solid white color shirt, which you’re wearing so thank you for that, jeans and certainly not a printed necktie. Be bold, sure, but too bold could land you in She Knows Best’s Nay-Lister of the day .

 

John Travolta With Mustache, Yay or Nay?

Not everybody is digging John Travolta and his new mustache but I do. I think John Travolta with a mustache looks cool, sexy and fierce . I like his new hairstyle too. Clean cut and military inspired. What do you think?
