It’s almost summer gentlemen. If you’ve been visiting She Knows Best in the last few weeks then you probably have noticed all the summer clothing featured here. So in a way this is like a reminder guide on what casual summer clothes you should or probably already have in your closets.

Polo Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts
Polo Shirts — these are comfortable and refreshing to handle the summer heat. Polo shirts can be worn at work, at home, running some errands, and of course, at the gold course. I particularly like the Ralph Lauren and IZOD brands.
White Shirt — any regular white tees would do. Maybe Hanes or Fruit of the Loom brands? At the end of the day and after all that heat, nothing can compare to the cool comfort a white t-shirt brings. Not to mention it looks oh-so-sexy with dark wash jeans. Whewww!
Cargo Shorts — the classic shorts for guys during the summer. They can be in brown, camouflage prints, or even denims.
Plaid/Madras Shorts — step out of your comfort zone by wearing some plaids for the summer. The jury is still out there deliberating the plaid shirts future but plaid or madras shorts, however, are gaining momentum among the summer fashion line up.
Sandals/Leather Flip-Flops — comfortable summer footwear that could be worn with shorts, jeans, and chinos.

Denim cargo shorts? really? that’s ridiculous
Yea, denim shorts of any kind should be avoided. Even cargo should be left for the teens. Do you really need those extra pockets?
I said “or even denim ones”. I’ve seen Men wear ‘em and they don’t look bad. AS as it’s comfy for other guys then good for them. Besides, not every Men are uber-fashionable as you two.
Are cargo shorts really only for the teens? I’m in my mid-thirties, and I still wear them outside on summer afternoons with a polo and sunglasses. Just got myself a pair from Ralph Lauren, but I always wonder if they are “too young” for me. I used to avoid them like the plague after I turned 30, but now I’ve started wearing them again in casual settings like lounging on the patio, by the lake, or at the local coffee house. Is this a no-no?
I personally avoid cargo shorts unless fishing or attending other gentlemanly outdoor gatherings. My dad wears em every now and again with good results. Just look for some with non-puffy pockets and a good fit. Also aim for knee length. Anything greater than two inches below and you might as well put on the bluetooth headset and some crocs.
