As mentioned , Merkur makes a great Razor, as does our RetroRazor (Weishi manufactures our handles). The manufacturer will control the blade gap (space between the safety bar and the blade), but the composition of the blade itself varies tremendously between manufacturers. For instance, our kits come with Dorco, Derby and Personna blades, since they give a very different shave. Once you find the right blade, buy 100 of them for $20 or less!
