We should also be aware that not all shaving creams are meant to be used by all men. We are unique and so is our skin type. One must choose wisely on what to put on his face. Taylor of Bond Street has created different aftershaves and shaving creams for men who have sensitive skin.

I must agree with Chadd, Merkur razors are great! Wet shaving is an art of removing facial hair using a double edge razor or a straight razor and to achieve the perfect shave, Merkur razors must be used. It will permit a close shave while still offering maximum protection from razor burn and ingrown hairs.

Great article! Glad you brought in the Safety Razor. It is an amazing way to shave! The handle and Blades are two of the most important variables for a close shave. As mentioned , Merkur makes a great Razor, as does our RetroRazor (Weishi manufactures our handles). The manufacturer will control the blade gap (space between the safety bar and the blade), but the composition of the blade itself varies tremendously between manufacturers.

For instance, our kits come with Dorco, Derby and Personna blades, since they give a very different shave. Once you find the right blade, buy 100 of them for $20 or less! Blades from Walgreens and CVS are relatively expensive (but still cheaper than a multi-blade) but inferior quality!

Anywho, Thanks for the great article!
