Medium Shoes
Medium – the design of shoes comes first. And they do design well!
MEDIUM is a Designer’s Movement operating as a commercial platform for designers to have direct access to various lifestyle markets. The MEDIUM Design Group is a collective of individual designers that work to create independent design concepts that are not bound by specific limitation or design requirements.
Today I want to showcase some of their sandals:
This thong takes its inspiration from furniture styles by Wabi Sabi and Japanese Minimalism. The base is hand carved and laser etched in wood and layered with EVA strips and rubber pads – with the thong portion in leather I think. I like the unique shape of it and the quality apparent in the materials.
This thong is a bit more "full coverage", which I am particularly fond of. Looks more stylish. The sole on this one is more rough in 3-ply and rubber. The thong portion is made with tanned shoulder leather and has a nice polished-yet-comfortable look.
This one has me iffy on the sole, but I like the thong portion with the rough stitching. The sole is molded EVA and handstitched leather, with nylon reinforcement. Not sure I love it, but it’s unique.
