Meet Dr. Martens

I believe every man should have a pair. It’s a Man’s shoes. Whatever that means. I just made that up, haha. My Man has 3 pairs. Well he did, until he threw away 1 pair this past February. Whaattt?? Why did he do that for?. Well I’ll tell you later. Just keep scrolling. But before I start delving into my husband’s Dr. Marten’s ‘collection‘ I feel I need to apologize for the quality of his boots. 1 pair is old, like 11 years old, and another one his work boots. I don’t even know how he would feel about his boots being shown here. He’s in Mississippi right now and I need to work on this post so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind
.

This is his first pair. He bought this before we even met. That was 11 years ago. He doesn’t want to throw it away because Dr. Martens doesn’t sell it anymore. If it’s still in production, I’m pretty sure he’ll buy a new replacement in a heartbeat. It’s still wearable, don’t get me wrong. But as you can see in the picture, it’s looks torn and well, old.

This pair is the one he threw away. I had to borrow a picture from the site. This was a birthday present 3 years ago. Last Summer(August) he went four-wheeling with a couple of friends and wore this for comfort and safety. Four-Wheeling means mud and lots of it. He came home, yes you guessed it, all caked out with mud. Instead of cleaning it up right away he left it in the port/drive way. After getting his “eeeehhhh” response everytime I asked if he ever planned on cleaning it, I just gave up. Last February, we moved to our new house, the boots were still in the driveway. Since it’s already caked out with mud and has been sitting there dry for months, of course it ended up in the pile of trash we had to throw away once we were done packing. Nice eh?

Click on the picture for a cleaner version. Like I intimated above, this is his work pair. He actually got this for free from work. One of the perks of working at his job was getting a pair of Dr. Martens boots. It’s necessary for his line of work. On his first day, the boss told him to pick one online. So he did. But once he recieved it, the boss informed him that he actually spent more that he was supposed to. Well, he didn’t tell him that. He gave him the online store address and told him to pick so my husband did. Not that he ordered the most expensive pair, but I guess he spent $25 more than each employee was alloted. But like I said, he wasn’t privy to that information, heh. Hey what can I say?, my Man knows his Doc’s
.
FYI, I have a pair of Dr. Martens myself. It’s the most expensive shoes I own. It used to be around $150, now it’s $90. I’m usually a PAYLESS kind of girl. My pair was a gift from my mother-in-law. I wear it on rainy days or during Halloween. It’s awesome for Trick-or-Treating
