Ralph Lauren is DNR’s #1 in this year’s list of 100 Most Powerful in Men’s Fashion and retail.

It’s undeniable that Ralph Lauren has dominated the industry with it’s brand. Being the designer for 2008 Olympics Attire didn’t hurt Ralph Lauren’s chances I’m sure :) .

Girgio Armani made it in second. Rounding up the top 10 list are :

3. Gilda Zegna

4. Eric Wiseman

5. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana

6. Terry Lundgren

7. Mickey Drexler

8. Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli

9. Bernard Arnault

10. François-Henri Pinault and Robert Polet

The comprehensive list of Top 100 will be released on Monday at DNR’s website.

Definitely a powerhouse. The one thing I think should have gone better for him which has not is his JC Penney match-up, American Living. Those clothes are cut well and designed much like his Polo stuff. Yet, in tough times, almost all the AL stuff I’ve seen has been heavily discounted and assigned to the bargain bin. Even worse is the fact that they sit there week after week. I guess the good thing, for me as a parent, is the prices have gone down significantly. Today, I just got my 4-year old a preppy long sleeved AL polo for under $10. It was basically free since I had a $10 of $10 coupon and I got him a new pair of jeans, too. So now my boy is stylin’ for cheap in a Ralph Lauren designed polo from JCP.
