]]> donatella-versaceIt’s Donatella Versace’s turn to tell us her 10 Rules of Style she happily shared at DETAILS Men’s Style Manual.

1. A man looks best in well-tailored paints with a low waist and a t-shirt. Donatella suggests a camel coat for Winter. for dressing up days, pinstripes suits with dark shirts are a must.

2. Bill Clinton is fascinating, always perfectly dressed. Apparently, she thinks he’s glamorous judging by the way he talks and walks. Interesting.

3. Middle-aged men should not wear black leather jackets. If you say so Donatella. I bet a bunch of bikers with their Harley Davidson motorcycles would argue otherwise. Heh.

4. Ben Affleck looks like a nice American boy. Albeit Donatella would appreciate a little danger out of him though. Hmm, didn’t you hear about his alcoholic phase? I call that dangerous. Eh, I think he’s passed that stage in his life now. He’s a Father now, with a beautiful and kick-ass wife to boot :)

5. Jewelry is okay if a man knows how to wear it. If you’re wearing a blue suit, don’t bastardize your self by adding jewelry.

6. American men groom way too much. Whuuut? She says Brad Pitt looks too polish for her taste. *flabbergadted*

7. Middle-class guys hide behind big shirts. Ms. Versace wants you guys to put a t-shirt under a suit. Furtermore, wear chinos with a long-sleeve T-shirt.

8. I watch a lot of TV. Larry King, he’s the only anchorman that I love. Really?

9. When it comes to their buddies, men should be less pumped. Donatella advices American guys(again) to swim more often. It’s a better exercise for toning.

10. Men should stop worrying about business so much. Quit thinking about money. Instead, think about seducing your woman. Well I couldn’t agree more. ;) ;)

There you go. I still have a few designers to cover before the end of this month. Zac Posen, Tommy Hilfiger, Christopher Bailey, Michael Kors and Sean Combs. It seems I have a lot of work to do.

Gentlemanly Act: Taking off Cubs hat indoors
Well-Dressed Outfit: Pinstripe suits with white shirt and skull-and-bones motif pocket square.

Wow, Loro Piana for accessories? Must be nice to be rich, or you’re all LOCO. I kid I kid :) .

NEW YORK
Local Style: Cosmopolitan
Cocktail: Rye Manhattan
Accessory: Barber black wing tips
Getaway: North Fork of Long Island
Secret Pleasures: Movies at Music Box Theater
Gentlemanly Act: Putting the Blackberry away in a restaurant
Well-Dressed Outfit: Jay Kos blue blazer with jeans and gingham shirt.

“Gentlemanly Act: Putting the Blackberry away in a restaurant.” Nahh, I digress. It’s being able to get up in the morning and smile at people knowing both Baseball teams(Yankees and Mets) ain’t going to the World Series, but RED SOX might. #@#$ *%$^ $@!&^ . FORGEDDABAWIT!!. GO INDIANS! :D

MIAMI
Local Style: Keeping Cool
Cocktail: Mojito
Accessory: Vintage Ray Bans
Getaway: Cuba
Secret Pleasures: Sailing

]]> The first article from the DETAILS Men’s Style Manual that I’m sharing with you guys is about the different styles of Men from different US cities. Men’s styles varies from relaxed, casual and big & brawny. The manual also outlined different lifestyles of the Men from corresponding cities. We’ll start with Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas.

LOS ANGELES
Local Style: Totally Casual
Cocktail: Vodka gimlet
Accessory: James Perse Shirt
Getaway: Alameda Padre Serra, Santa Barbara
Secret Pleasures: Bar-hopping downtown
Gentlemanly Act: No name-dropping
Well-Dressed Outfit: $500 Sweatshirt over $300 jeans.

Geez, that sweatshirt and jeans prices don’t sound too casual to me… LOL. “Secret Pleasures: Bar-hopping downtown”, Hmmmm, perhaps hoping of all hopes that the bad girls(Britney, Paris and company) of Hollywood would do something stupid? Hehe.

SAN FRANCISCO
Local Style: Relaxed Luxury
Cocktail: Negroni
Accessory: White Blackberry
Getaway: Pescadero
Secret Pleasures: Macchiatos in the back room of Tosca Cafe
Gentlemanly Act: Keeping the bumper stickers off the Prius
Well-Dressed Outfit: Gray flannel with brown suede shoes or jeans with a cashmere tweed jacket.

The outfit does sound luxurious yet relax at the same time. I could almost envision it actually.

DALLAS
Local Style: Big and Brawny
Cocktail: Tequila neat
Accessory: Filson bag
Getaway: Belize
Secret Pleasures: Dove Hunting
Gentlemanly Act: Avoiding political discussions
Well-Dressed Outfit: Bright, bold patterns and luxurious fabrics

My kind of cocktail that’s for sure :) .
