Sorry Guys, But You’re Most Likely To Die First

Hey, don’t kill the messenger here. Apparently, researches have proven that Men Die First. Here’s a description from the book, Why Men Die First by Marianne Legato :

Dr. Legato shows how the forces of culture and biology conspire against male mortality. Drawing on the latest research and narrated through the lives of her patients, she delves into problems that both men and women care about– from why the male fetus is at greater risk, to why boys have a hard time adjusting to school, to how elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol make men more prone to aggression and why they are more likely to die from cardiac arrest or cancer and even depression.

Stepping away from the Health aspects for a minute, there are reasons why Men could die first. Let me count the ways :

If you’re cheating on your partner, if she doesn’t kill you with her 4 inches heels, she’ll likely kill you with alimony, child support, years of blame for being the reason why she hates Men, hence a lifetime therapy that you’ll probably be paying too. Monetary and emotional blackmail.
You’re likely to die first if you’ve been divorced too many times. You can’t even handle 1 woman, how the hell do you think you’ll handle 5 ex-wives?
And if you’re stupid enough to have kids with each woman because you’re too proud (or coward) to get sniffed, that means lots and lots of child support, different days of visitation, your kids hating each other because Daddy spent more time with one child than the other. The ex-wives will step up and before you know it, you’re bald like Dr. Phil.
If you haven’t accepted that “Yes Dear” works mysterious ways, then you might as well start digging your own grave.
And if it isn’t obvious enough, SHE KNOWS BEST!! Live and Learn!! =P

All kidding aside, get the book and learn how to avoid dying first, the healthy way. And what do you know, it’s a Woman Doctor who’s trying to save you guys, AGAIN. Imagine that.

The Happening star is having another baby with partner Rhea Durham . This is baby #3 for Mark Wahlberg and Rhea . Mark jokingly said he’s trying to form a golf team . He also told PEOPLE that Rhea is his future wife. Now let’s hope he makes it happen before their golf team is complete. Hey, I’m just saying. She’s good enough to be his BabysMamma, shouldn’t she be good to be his wife? Like I said, I’m just saying. They’re not Brangelina after all. . Anyway, Congratulations again Mark and Rhea.

Date Night Dish : Grilled Chipotle Chicken

It’s grilling season so why not impress her or the whole family with delicious grilled chipotle chiken? Show ‘em your mad skillz in grilling . A Man is only as good as his grilling techniques, right? . Here’s an easy grilled chicken recipe for you that I assure you everybody would enjoy. And trust me, it’s as easy as saying your ABC.

INGREDIENTS :
chicken quarters (or legs, thighs)
a bottle of Lawry’s Baja Chipotle Marinade
a boiling pot with water.

When you’re grilling chicken, except the chicken breasts, you MUST parboil the chicken first. This will avoid burnt skin and raw meat. By parboiling it, the chicken is already half-way cooked inside so by the time you grill ‘em, they’re finishing to cook with the skin. Know what I mean? Parboiling means pre-boiling the chicken in water. More after the fold..

Ok so you parboil the chicken. Stick a fork into the meat and when there’s clear liquid coming out of it, then it’s done. Drain the water off. Transfer the chicken into container/tupperware, over the chipotle marinade, make sure every pieces are coated with the marinade. Cover and store in the fridge, overnight or about 2-3 hours before grilling time.

Grill each side about 10-12 minutes. Depends how powerful your grill is. Set it to medium heat. 8-10 minutes on each side is an ideal grilling time as well. I think you know what a cooked chicken looks like right? Maybe before you start preparing your grilled chicken, ask your wife/gf nicely to make potato salad to go nicely with it. Sex and The City : The Movie has been dubbed as the chick flick of the year, or the universe if you ask all of the SATC fans, present company included . Even the Press has jumped into the bandwagon, could a women dominated movie make it into the Blockbuster’s list? Will SATC kick Iron Man, or Indiana Jones off of the top. I say the more the merrier. Men are just as part of the SATC phenomenon as much as the girls namely Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda are. Sure they have their own lives, careers, clothes, shoes, but they also had Men. And lots of them, heh. So let’s not discount them yet, especially when they were also at the SATS Movie Premiere in NYC, on a pink carpet no less

What’s the point of this post? Isn’t it obivous? If these Men could watch Sex and The City : The Movie, either by themselves, or with their wives/gf, respectively, you could too. So unless your Lady has made plans to watch it with her girlfriends, surprise her by taking her to the theater yourself on May 30th. Suck it up. Don’t make her wait for the DVD. Love Tips : 9 Words That Women Use

Just in case some of you haven’t gotten the 9 Words That Women Use in your inboxes, respectively, here they are. Learn it and Live it. For the Women out there, you know some if not all, are true .

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t do It.

The rest of the the 9 Words That Women Use after the fold…

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you. Do not question, or faint; just say you’re welcome. I want to add in a clause here: This is true unless she says “Thanks a lot” – that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say “you’re welcome” in this case, for that will bring on a “whatever”).

(8) Whatever: Is a women’s way of saying screw YOU!

(9) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has asked a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?” For the woman’s response refer to # 3.

Date Night Dish : Carrabba’s Mussels in White Wine Sauce By Vince Gill

I know it’s only Tuesday and we usually do our Date Night Dish on Thursdays but I just scored the delicious recipe of Carrabba’s Mussels in White Wine Sauce that Country Music Star Vince Gill cooked for his wife Amy Grant so I figured I might as well share it with you. Besides, you need to watch the video and get the ingredients in advance that way you’ll be ready for your Friday’s romantic date-at-home .

Carrabba’s Mussels in White Wine Sauce

2 oz Olive Oil
1# Cleaned Canadian Mussels
1/4 Chopped yellow Onion
6 cloves Chopped Garlic
1 oz Pernod liquor
8 Basil Leaves chopped
6 oz Lemon Butter Sauce
Juice of 1 lemon

Heat oil in Sauté pan. Add Mussels, cover and cook until shells begin toopen about 2 minutes. Remove top and add garlic and onions and toss. Cover pan again and cook for 1 minute. Remove top and add remaining ingredients.Reduce heat for 2 minutes with top off. Place in bowl and serve.
