It’s golf season right? Before you wave goodbye to your wife and drive to your favorite golf stop with your buddies, make sure you have all the golf essentials. And I’m not talking about your golf set. It’s more of a golf fashion . Yah know, the golf polo shirts, the shorts/pants, golf shoes, of course, the ones that will protect your eyes and skin from the Summer heat. Sunscreen, hats and glasses. If you’re going to go golfing, hit it right, protect yourself from the sun AND, look cool as well . On the May issue of DETAILS, you’ll find Hermes Menswear Designer, Varonique Nichanian opining on the 10 Rules of Style. Here’s a few of them :

2. Style is a question of charm, not nationality. It’s not true that French men have more allure or style than American men. It’s just that they dress with more personality. They don’t follow dress codes, and sometimes they mix things in a way they shouldn’t. Like how Serge Gainsbourg dressed, with his reptile shoes with jeans and blazer and white shirt—that’s charm.

4. In relationships, you must show proof of love and do something passionate. I once had a boyfriend fly from New York to Paris just to have dinner with me. It was very smart. (*With airfare costs these days, you might want find other alternatives )

6. You should have one watch for the weekend, one for the week, one for suits, one for sport. I love watches. Watches are for men what perfume is for women. They are very personal, and you can wear them according to your mood. (*Ehhhh, I’d suggest sunglasses instead, heh. )

8. Men make a mistake when they follow fashion instead of their own personality or their own body. When they dress in a very slim shape even if they don’t have the right body, it’s all wrong. It’s awful. With my husband, I tell him, ‘Stay yourself and I’ll take care of you.’ He’s the most spoiled man in Paris. (*Amen, Amen, Amen. I’m happy to say my husband knows his stuff with my help of course . )

No one can pull off a white embellished tunic look as good as Prince. Seriously, not even I, a woman, LOL. Here’s a little to from me, just because Music Icon Prince looks good in a white tunic that doesn’t mean you would too. So unless you’re singing about a Little Red Corvette or wishing for a Purple Rain while strumming to a guitar, Do Not, and I repeat, DO NOT copy this Prince Look. Please for the love of all fashion and sanity, let Prince hold on to his style identity. You don’t need to be copying any of it, under any circumstances. Thank You!!

There’s a list on how to dress like a Big Boy over at Men’s Health to help you out in the Women department. Coz you know how those women are. They like their Men hot and stylish, respectively . We’ll go through 3 of them here.

Dissect your best clothes
Find out the reasons why you like wearing a particular pair of jeans or blazer. With the help of a trusted tailor, write down the characteristics of each item. The next time you go shopping, try to remember those reasons.

Never be trendy
I agree. You must learn and know your style, then cultivate it.

Own 3 Tees
Well at least 3 in my opinion. Pick dark colors like gray, navy and maroon. Each look great as is or as undershirts for a blazer or a jacket.
