You know what I like about the Frankie Morello 2009 Spring/Summer Collection? It’s fun, sporty, active and befitting a Srping and Summer weather. Know what I mean? The clothes are on the edgy side for a casual wear but I appreciated the shorts. Men wear shorts during the Summer. I like it when Fashion designers actually sit down and think about the reality of how the “street fashion” works. I wish more and more designers would actually consider the concept of real living when they start conceptualizing their lines. Although Frankie Morello’s interpretaiton of that is a little extreme, at least he tried .

So how do I summarize the Dirk Bikkembergs 2009 Spring/Summer Collection? Well, it’s oozing with Manliness. I don’t know if it’s the fit of the clothes on the models or the obvious fact that the models are muscular. *clears throat* . The colors are earthy though. It almost looks like a Fall collection. Well, except for a few purples and bright green. I must give props to all the Man-Bags.

The shoes are insane. Gag insane or good sane? It’s more like, “I can’t believe I’m seeing plaid cap-toe oxfords and I actually think it’s cool” kind of insane. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest for you to wear a pair but for some reason there’s that cool factor to it. Nice touch on the picnic basket huh? Anyway, I like the cut of the suits and the color combinations.

I’m actually surprised by the lack of uber-patterns from the Missoni 2009 Spring/Summer Collection. Usually the signaure bold patterns in their knitwear is very much in focus. The 2009 collection is controlled. The patterns are still there but it’s not too much. Kinda cool, actually . I see Missoni is also venturing onto the gladiator sandals. I’m glad they’re in earth tones unlike the bright colored sandals from Versace 2009 Spring/Summer Collection.

And here we go. If you like wearing a split tank shirt underneath a leather jacket, well, Emporio Armani 2009 Spring/Summer Collection might be your cup of tea. Care for stripes hammer pants with vest?, hey whatever float your boats. What’s up with the neckline? It has asymmetrical button features. Details I guess, heh. I do like the shorts, shoes and bags though .

Milan Fashion Week : Versace 2009 Spring/Summer Collection

Milan Fashion Week is on. What my life is made of..LOL. First up, Versace 2009 Spring/Summer Collection. Click on the images for larger versions.

I like it. Versace is showing colors for it’s 2009 Spring/Summer Collection. Pastels and very casual. I’m impressed with the smoke graphic on the shirts. I’m not too sure about the pastel colored sandals though. The suits are quintessential. Nothing too fancy for me but overall, Versace 2009 Spring/Summer Collection is not too shabby. It’s very ready-to-wear. Nothing too couture-ish. What do you think?

From the recently concluded Milan(D&G, Armani, Missoni, Versace) as well as Paris Fashion Week showcasing the 2008 Spring/Summer Men’s look , Men.Style has compiled their top 10 list of what will supposedly be the hottest trends for Spring 2008 in Men’s Fashion. Here they are with my own observations :

1. Hammer Pants. Yes, we’re talking about MC Hammer’s pants.
2. Neon Signs. Just please try not to blind somebody.
3. Sheer Modesty. Make sure you shave and do some abs workout, heh.
4. The Hockney Effect.
5. All Zipped Up. Try not to go over board.
6. The Shawl Thing. Making the formal suit a daytime option.
7. Flood Alert. Cropping ‘em pants…
8. Synth Rock. Non-natural fabrics..
9. Light and Layered. My favorite
10. Pajama Game. Not sure about this trend

Missoni Men’s Wear Spring/Summer 2008 Milan Fashion Week

Now if you’re opting for color hues like yellow, blue, peach, green, etc. to spice up your 2008 Spring and Summer wardrobe, you would definitely appreciate the mixtures of colors from Missoni. They unveiled their 2008 collection at the Milan Fashion Week with their famous ready-to-wear knitwear showcasing their trademark patterns and stripes on the wide variety of fabrics. Even more visible in their Spring/Summer line are the bold accessories like the chunky necklaces, hats and bags.

Take a look for yourself…….

Now please forgive me for imagining all these playful colors incorporated in my own wardrobe filled with dresses, blouses, tops, shoes and bags . Fashion is inspirational and very much relative, you see .

Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Wear Spring/Summer 2008 Milan Fashion Week

While VERSACE showcased solid colors of suits, jackets and pants with pastel accents in undershirts and suits. D&G’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection focused on prints, military inspired look and accentuating the line with bulky scarves. Not only that, the Italian designer duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also infused some beachwear in mini trunks style and bemuda shorts in bold floral prints and striped/print shirts as well.

Crocodile lace up shoes compliments the formal wear while wide-strapped sandals were paired with casuals.

I personally like the bold flower prints of the bermuda shorts. I’m guessing D&G is trying to re-introduce or at least make Men be interested again in swimming trunks after the recent James Bond movie wherein James wore a blue swimming trunks. I don’t understand the bulky scarves though. Who wears scarves during warmer days?
