Utilitarian Boots For Fall 2009

It’s a given that you will have a few pairs of boots to wear this Fall but give the season a little edge by picking at least 1 pair of Utilitarian boots. The tough, hardworking, macho, responsible, and focused vibes would surely shine with a pair of one of these boots.

Ralph Lauren is not going to take this utilitarian boots trend laying down by contributing the Fidel Hiking Boots . Look at that green and black hand-burnished calf leather. I might get in trouble for saying this but it looks like a much much better looking Dr. Marten’s boots. $1500

For Fall 2009, a touch, pop, or straight forward color of red is one of the trends that one should incorporate on their wardrobe. If could be in the from of a tie, detail on a pair of sneaker, shirts, watch, scarf, and other accessories. How about a red jacket? Oooh, sounds intriguing, no?

I usually prefer the classic black and brown jacket during the Fall season but this Red Dolce & Gabbana Quilted Nylon Jacket has changed my mind. It has fun qualities in it. Almost like “devil may care yes I’m wearing red leather jacket” kind of attitude. And quilted no less. I think it’s the fact that the shade of red is not overwhelming at all. It’s more along the line of cranberry red. It has that deep red shade to it.

Now let’s talk about the 12 zippers. Yes, there are 12 zippers on the jacket. Well, 13 if you count the front zipper opening. I’ve got no problem with them, do you? I actually think they’re cool. They give the jacket some kind of edge and funkiness. I like ‘em . The price? Well, that’s the not-so-attractive side if you’re watching how much you spend on things these days. It’s $2195 at Neiman Marcus. Wowzer.

If you’re going to wear a red jacket this Fall, please make sure to stick to basic solid colors underneath. Stick to white or black shirts and dark denims.

First it was the tie-dye seersucker short, now it’s the Michael Kors Tie-Dye Polo shirt. Compare to the shorts I actually like the tie-dye shirt. I love the sky blue and white tie-dye work. It seems John Varvatos is bringing back Suspender pants this Spring. I thought Steve Urkel retired the look but apparently not. Well, try to find solace on the fact that your pants aren’t plaid and high-waisted and not folded all the up to your knees, heh

If you answer Yes, you’re brave enough to pull off a Loro Piana Fur Scarf then props to you. If you’re going to spend $2400 for a fur scarf this winter, then it better damn well be from Loro Piana and you better rock it like it’s never been rocked before. Or like you’ve never rocked anything in your wardrobe anyway . It’s a 100% cashmere fur scarf by the way. So that should make you feel better in spending all that money . Such a nice counterpart to the ever-so-notorious pink Playboy’s Bunny ears if you ask me . Something funky to show off when out and about and I’m guessing a nice conversation piece among the family and friends during the holiday get-togethers. Juicy Couture Cashmere Skull Track Jacket, Too Much?

And when I asked Too Much, I didn’t mean the price of $395. That’s pretty much expected from Juicy Couture. Well maybe not that much but since it’s cashmere, it’s understandable. Anyway, I’m referring to the design on the back. I’m usually fond of skull graphics on clothes. But to a point. This track jacket is already a cashmere. Adding the stripesdetail, eh, maybe it’s ok. But a bold graphic on the back for an even more edgy twist? Kinda overboard. I guess when it comes to cashmere, I just prefer it to be left alone and let cashmere be the focal style aspect.
