Remember when I told you guys about the GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer Nominees? Well the designers showcased 9 Fall looks at the end of January to impress the judges. The winner will be announced at the end of February will get a $50,000 cash prize and also create a capsule collection which will only be available in Bloomingdales and Levis.com for the initial month and other stores afterwards. GQ’s The Best New Menswear Designers Nominees

This year is GQ’s second year in celebrating The Best Menswear Designers in America. Six designers are nominated to vie for the $50,000 cash prize and a chance to create a capsule collection for Levi’s which will be unveiled exclusively at Bloomingsdale’s in accordance with Fall’s New York Fashion Week. GQ’s editor-in-chief Jim Nelson heads the panel judge, along with GQ’s creative director Jim Moore and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Here are the nominees and their creations..

SELVAGE DENIM : Introduced by Levi’s in 1927. This type of denim has red stitching on the inside seam for extra support
PROS : Tight weaving makes Selvage Denim durable. The seams won’t fray. A spokeswoman for Levi’s, Amy Jasmer said if you like unfinished jeans look, Selvage is the best kind.
