As soon as I saw this Michael Kors Tie Dye Seersucker Shorts I asked my husband if he would wear it. He gave me his resounding answer of  NO. I informed him that “good coz I’m about to NAY it” to which he reciprocated with “Freaking NAY the HELL out of it“.

Sorry Michael Kors. Maybe your tie dye shorts would get a different reaction from the other She Knows Best Men. Guys? Is this Michael Kors Tie Dye Seersucker Shorts a YAY? or a NAY?

FYI, my husband was in the Marines when I met him in California. He served 4 years I think. He got out the year after we got married because we just had a baby and he didn’t want to be sent away overseas coz it meant leaving me all alone with a new baby. So he re-enlisted with the Army..LOL. Anyhooo, it’s true when they say “Once A Marine, Always A Marine”. Serving 8 years in the Army never stopped him from being a part of Semper Fi. So when he saw the military shirts from Steve and Barry’s he searched for the Marines as well. He was happy to have found the red one. And it was only $8.98. HOORAH! He also picked the red stripes polo shirt for the same price.

Out of all the Buy 2 For $20 shorts the store has right now, my husband only picked this $12.98 Chino shorts coz like I intimated above, the shorts front pleats and cords weren’t his style.

Luckily, there’s Lucky Brand Jeans waiting on the horizon . I found a couple from their store that I think my husband might like. Well I hope so anyway .

This pair is called Brigade Cargo Short. The color is not bad and it does look a little bit roomy.

Who doesn’t own a camo print cargo shorts? If you don’t, well it’s time to get one . This Camo Militia Cargo Short is in distressed linen. It looks like it has a lot of room and lots of pockets.

The second pair might get his thumbs up approval. Well, that’s 1 cargo short down right? I better go find some more.

Depending on the color, a sneaker or sandal is your best choice with dress shorts. Clean, white-based sneakers will work with any color, as long as you’re trying to dress down your outfit for a very casual look. Of course, the event to which you will be wearing the shoes will determine whether your sneakers are appropriate. For example, a stroll through the park is sneaker-appropriate, while a dinner date is not. To dress up your shorts, try a dress (not athletic) sandal. Again, the black and brown color rules apply. Khaki-colored shorts and a black or gray T-shirt should ideally be paired with a black sandal, while any other color shirt will work with a brown sandal.

Shorts-and-shoes don’ts. Avoid boots, loafers or any other footwear besides sneakers and sandals with shorts. Avoid wearing socks with your sandals. Enough said.

Let me reiterate the last part : Avoid wearing socks with your sandals.

One of the reasons why the reader asked SKB’s advice regarding this matter is because he wants to be able to wear dressy shorts in Church as well. Personally, I would prefer nobody wear shorts to Church. But this is just me. Reading the quote above maybe will make you feel comfortable donning shorts to Church. But if it’s my husband doing that, I’ll tell him to go change right away  .

First up is the Silver Jewelry. I agree. I like it when my husband wears his silver cross-pendant necklace. I prefer silver over gold. The latter looks pimp-ish..LOL. Hey whatever floats your boat. It’s a matter of preference. I’m lucky my hubster also prefers silver or platinum. Anything along those lines. Here are my picks for silver jewelries from Neiman Marcus :

I also like this John Hardy silver Dayak station bracelet. I really love the ‘tribal’ detail. Cool huh?

Next up on the list is the Sports Jacket. It definitely adds a sleek look to any outfit. You can wear it with a simple white cotton shirt or a linen button up shirt, either way you’re going to look distinguished and well put together and COOL.

See how this wool jacket is worn over a graphic tee? This Paul Smith jacket has purple check and lining that gives it a really nice casual touch which makes it OK to wear over just a tee. HOT!

Third up are the driving shoes. Huh? Beats me..LOL. I thought any pair of shoes Men wear are their driving shoes. It’s not like they wear 3 inches heels like women do . But, que sera sera, I will pick something for the sake of it, heh. Basically, they’re loafers and mocassins .

Surprisingly, I actually like this pair of brown suede Mocassin from Tod Gommini. It must be because of the the multi-color stripes detail on the side.

Fourth on the list are the short-sleeve sports shirts. Most definitely. You can never go wrong with wearing one. Plus it goes perfectly with either jeans, shorts, or trousers. Now let’s see if you are brave enough to wear these prints:

This Nat Nast black with blue/tan/yellow abstract printed shirt is interestingly an attention grabber shirt. Hey, work it buddy.

I was a little hesitant with this second printed shirt but eventually after looking at it longer the green/gold leaf print grew on me. This Tommy Bahama shirt is actually nice.

Number 5 on the list is the summer trouser. Whether you’re going to work, or a date or even Church with your family assuming you are a Church going person . Trousers are perfect.

This John Varvatos cashmere henley also comes in hemp color. It’s flat front with side on-seam and back welt pockets. Cool!

And last but definitely not the least, flat-front shorts. These seems to be all the rage this year. They could be a little tricky though so what I suggest is try them on first before going to the check out line. Make sure the cut flatters your body and that you feel comfortable moving in it.

I like this one from Dsquared2 but only because it’s cargo. Unfortunately, not all body types will work with the flat-front cut so like I said above, try it on first.
