Zac Efron has a new movie coming out on Friday called, 17 Again. Zac plays the 17 yr old version of Matthew Perry. He has come a long way from being the cute guy who sings and dances with a basketball no less on 3 High School Musical movies. 2 were on Disney Channel and 1 raked in millions in the theater. And on Hairspray movie with John Travolata. This time around, Zac is stepping away from the cute and musical genre and slowly trying to make a name in Hollywood. Hey, having good looks and oh-so-pretty blue eyes doesn’t hurt either.

You get the feeling he knows he should be saying this, to the men’s magazine. That he knows a career built almost exclusively on the squealing ardor of preteen girls, on choreographed dance numbers set to expository pop tuneage so perkily inoffensive it makes early ’NSync sound like Howlin’ Wolf, is something a man has to live down before you can, y’know, call him a man. He seems like he wants to pass a test. And yet he’s not wrong. Cool Hand Luke is awesome! Compared to the movies of the ’70s, the movies of today look like cheap, mercury-contaminated Chinese toys! And Steve McQueen and Paul Newman? They were awesome!

“I mean—they lived here,” Efron says, gesturing out at the city, clearly meaning not Hollywood the place but Hollywood, the state of being. “They made it through all this.”

I’m quite intrigued with his hair style on the cover. It’s nice to see him in a suit, and in colors. He’s usually wearing some black or gray tees. And of course his *ahem* shirtless picture. In a matter of seconds (or minutes), Zac Efron was able to transform his bad hair into a good hair. Way To Go Zac. You can’t possibly be a young matinée idol if you don’t know how to manage your hair in one fell swoop. Or in this case, the wind, .

All kidding aside, I hope Zac Efron would add color in his life. He’s always wearing a gray shirt. He’s starting to be like Simon Cowell’s young counterpart.

Let’s start with the host, Hugh Jackman. He changed 3 times. If my sources are right, his suits were custom made. He opted for bow-tie, from the opening to his performance all the way to the end. Hugh Jackman did wonderful. He is a full package entertainer. I loved how he played an homage to all the movies in his “recession” show then at the end he proclaimed to everyone how he is THE Wolverine. 2009 Oscar’s was fun because of Hugh.

More Stylish Men after the fold….

Best Actor winner Sean Penn with previous Oscar’s winners, Robert de Niro, Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Anthony Hopkins and Adrien Brody. Sean Penn is I think one of the few who donned a monochromatic suit.

Robert Downey Jr was his usual dapper self. He finally shaved, (hehe). He also opted for a basic black and white suit with necktie.

I’d probably get tomatoes thrown at me after this but I don’t really consider Twilight star Robert Pattinson hot. His “rebel-scruffy-devil-may-care” look has all been done before. Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell anyone? Just sayin’. But he looked ok last night.

Zac Efron played his part as the Hot Young Hollywood Kid wearing his Dolce & Gabbana suit at a huge party successfuly. He and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens performed with Hugh Jackman during the show.

Brad Pitt was once again wearing Tom Ford. He looked good as usual.

Daniel Craig didn’t disappoint with his own bow-tie formal look.

More on the skinny ties issue after the fold…

DETAILS wrote an interesting piece about the end of skinny ties. Interestingly enough, the magazine’s Jan/Feb issue’s cover was High School Musical Heartrob Zac Efron and he was wearing a skinny tie with his black on black ensemble. Hmmmm….

What’s my take on the down with the skinny ties campaign? I’m in between. Whatever makes you feel good. Skinny Ties are harmless compare to all the obnoxiously avant-garde clothes those huge designers showcase at the Fashion Week Runways that they expect you to wear in your everyday life. Know what I mean?

Zac Efron sure did clean up from his “Man-NyTails” eh? Good thing coz for a while there he was looking unrecognizable. Certainly not the cute boy from High School Musical. In this picture, he sure does look like the half of “Zanessa” (Vanessa Hudges – Zac Efron). Please don’t ask me how I know these things…. LOL

Zac looks all fun and stylish in this all-black get up. I’d forgive his skinny ties since it’s youthful and just as perfect for his age. I’d even forgive the pouting and grabbing the hair part. Whatever makes Vanessa happy
