How’s That For "Smashing Americans"?

I really am a huge fan of the Olympics. I love that adrenaline. I love cheering for the US Team. And last night was one of the most intense cheering I have done thus far. At about 11pm, I was yelling loudly, probably not as loud as when Michael Phelps saw the time at the end of the relay, realizing the US Team just “squashed” the France team and it’s World Record, but loudly nonetheless.

Why this win was so dramatic is because before the relay, the France team made a stupid and an arrogant comment saying, “The American’s?, we’ll squash them“. France has dominated this 4 x 100 M freestyle relay for years and even the TV anchors didn’t think US would beat France.

Well, they did, and even broke the World Record. And Cullen Jones, Jason Lezak, Michael Phelps and Garrett Weber-Gale were all fit and good looking to boot .

France need to learn a tried and true phrase. “It A’int Over ‘Till The Fat Lady Sings“. Oh and maybe a little humility, perhaps, heh.

That makes 2 gold medals for Michael Phelps. 6 more to go!

Watching the US Team probably makes you want to go swim in the pool and practice huh? Maybe in 4 years you’ll be an Olympian too and burning that damn scale .

Tom Hanks’ Angels and Demons Movie Set Pictures

I know I know, Angels and Demons has nothing to do with Men’s fashion but it sure has a lot to do with Lifestyle . You guys watch movies and read books too right? . My husband and I have been waiting impatiently for this movie to get into theaters that I just have to share it. Angels and Demons is the prequel to Tom Hanks‘ The Da Vinci Code. You know, the phenomenon that Dan Brown started. Both books are amazing reads and even though the movie adaptation to The Da Vinci Code got a lukewarm reception from critics, albeit making lots of money, my husband and I loved it. And like I said, we are waiting for this next movie anxiously.

I don’t care what anybody says, Tom Hanks is the best and the only actor who could pull off Robert Langdon brilliantly. Ayelet Zurer is playing the character Vittoria Vetra.

If you haven’t, please read about Angels and Demons then decide whether you should read the book and watch the movie when it’s out. I suggest you do both. It’ll be one of the best books you’ll ever encounter. And then read The Da Vinci Code next. Hey, consider them your Summer Reads this year .

If you’re read both books, are you excited as I am to learn it’s finally coming into fruition, albeit slowly?

I bet you at one point you’ve asked yourself “what is in my wife/gf’s purse“?. Women these days love to carry those oversize bags. Like their life is over if they can’t fit in another 2 tubes of lipgloss to add to the other 3 tubes they’ve already got. Guilty as charged..LOL. How To Be A Romantic Blogger

If you’re a blogger, like everyone online is pretty much, then you have an online outlet to show how romantic you are to your wife/gf on her birthday or your anniversary. So here’s a page from my husband’s book of romantic tips that you guys might be interested in on how to be a romantic blogger.

Wake up at 2:30am
Turn your computer on
Login to your Wordpress/Blogger/MovableType account
Search Google for a “happy birthday” image
Save the img to a folder, then upload to the Wordpress/Blogger/MovableType
Type a “birthday greeting” entry post to your wife/gf
Don’t forget to add how a wonderful wife she is
Attach the image to the post
Shamelessly plug her own blogs in the post
Open PSP, create an animated gif saying “I love you _____, Happy Birthday”
Upload the animated gif to Wordpress/Blogger/MovableType and attach it at the bottom of the post
Go back to sleep
When your wife wakes up, silently wait for her to discover the Birthday post you wrote on your blog.

There you go. Now of course this will only work if your wife is also a blogger and she happens to have a feed of your blogs on her personal blog. That’s how I discovered my birthday greetings. He was wondering how long I’d find it but he didn’t know I have a widget box in my sidebar showing his blog’s feeds. You know, I try to pimp his blogs out as much as I can .

If she’s not a blogger but still likes to go online, You can still do this by making a screensaver. When she turns the computer on, she’ll see it right away. Isn’t that romantic? In this day and age of computer and blogging, it sure is . Kinda cheesy but definitely romantic.

What Are Your Romantic Plans For New Year’s Eve?

So what are you guys doing before or during the ball drops at midnight? Holiday season is usually the time couples move up to the next level of commitment. Any one of you got engaged this past Christmas? Josh Duhamel did. He finally asked his Duchess to marry him. Congratulations. Or are you waiting for that 12am mark? Well if you are planning on getting down on your knees to finally pop the question to your lucky lady, I hope you went to Tiffany’s. Nothing makes a woman swoon like a rock coming out of a blue box . If not a Tiffany ring, maybe an heirloom ring. Kinda like what Jennifer Love Hewitt’s fiancee gave her. Either one, I hope you know you girlfriend enough to make sure she gets exactly what kind of rock she wants.

To the already happily married Men, hey, it’s not to late to get your wife some rock or blings as well If you have kids, I suggest a locket necklace. That’s what my husband gave me for Christmas and I LOVE it. I’m planning on putting the picture of both my kids on one half of the heart and his picture on the other half. A thoughtful and a very family oriented piece of jewelry that Mothers/Wives will treasure forever.

Women’s Prerogative On PDA’s

Men’s Health magazine conducted a survey among 215 Women for their November issue regarding the thing called PDA. That’s Public Display of Affection for yah. These 215 women rated which actions are very classy way of showing Men’s affection and which are the ones you should just ditch. I made a graph of the result through Photoshop, copying the one from the magazine issue.

That’s sweet and all but these days, what I consider a PDA is slightly different. We have 2 kids so whenever my husband picks my purse and the diaper bag while I get the baby out of her car seat and making sure my 9 yr old son is not run over by impatient drivers or vise-versa is a very loving PDA for me. 1-5 are pretty much a part of our daily routine so nothing extravagant about ‘em. And of course, he always cathces me off guard with the playful butt slap when I’m busy doing something. Like bending over to pick up a toy from the floor, for instance .

Be that as it may, how do you rate from the survey? If you’re a woman reading this, how is your Man when it comes to his PDA skillz?

Steve and Barry’s Haulage For The Hubs

My husband didn’t just buy the $15 Starbury sneakers when we stopped at a Steve and Barry’s store from our road trip vacation. He also found some other goodies for himself like novelty shirts and one pair of chino shorts. Steve and Barry’s really do have nice deals on Men’s shorts but most of them were pleated on the front and some have cords on the waist. My husband is particularly picky when it comes to shorts designs which is good. He knows what looks good on him and he knows what he likes. I’ve trained him well, *ahem*, which makes our shopping ventures quite enjoyable .

FYI, my husband was in the Marines when I met him in California. He served 4 years I think. He got out the year after we got married because we just had a baby and he didn’t want to be sent away overseas coz it meant leaving me all alone with a new baby. So he re-enlisted with the Army..LOL. Anyhooo, it’s true when they say “Once A Marine, Always A Marine”. Serving 8 years in the Army never stopped him from being a part of Semper Fi. So when he saw the military shirts from Steve and Barry’s he searched for the Marines as well. He was happy to have found the red one. And it was only $8.98. HOORAH! He also picked the red stripes polo shirt for the same price.

Out of all the Buy 2 For $20 shorts the store has right now, my husband only picked this $12.98 Chino shorts coz like I intimated above, the shorts front pleats and cords weren’t his style.
