How to tie a bow

I might as well show you how to tie a bow, if I’m going to show you how to wrap a present. In my experience, the cheapest place for ribbon (look for the wire edged ones) is Costco. You need the wire edge to be able to shape and fluff the ribbon correctly.
There is a great visual demo of tying a bow at Simple Human.
I use bows like these on my Christmas tree, along with extra ribbon in a complimentary color, instead of tinsel or garlands. Looks nice.
Gift Wrapping

These are great tips that I’ve followed in the past for wrapping gifts, which is an art unto itself. Martha Stewart can annoy me sometimes, but her website is great and, at Christmas time, I’m proud to be called a Martha Stewart – I make my own wrapping paper, cards and even some ornaments!
Though I don’t expect you to follow me in the craziness, I will pass on some tips I’ve found useful from good ol’ Martha:

Making the bed with hospital corners

I’ll admit to being guilty of not making the bed. I actually quite dislike making the bed. We have a comforter that is getting to that lumpy stage and I cannot get it to look the way I want, so I honestly just let it stay a mess. However, we do have all the coordinating pieces and everything to make the bed look perfect. I have on our wedding registry some new quilts to take care of the lumpiness then we’ll be back in style.

The bathroom is key

Most guys overlook the importance of the bathroom. If there was anywhere I’d advise you in your house to adopt the ‘metrosexual’ guidelines, it would be here.
You know women tend to, overall, spend a bit more time in the bathroom. And we do look around. We scan to see if it is clean. And sometimes even check the medicine cabinet. It we stay over, you better believe we want to step into that shower without feeling we need to tiptoe around dirt or avoid putting our clean feet on your bath mat.
