Expect over-the-knee boots to be hot for fall. Though I’m not sure about this trend being able to translate from the runway to real life, designers are churning out these tall boots. Sandals in neutral colors such as cream and taupe are on trend this summer. These sandals from Kate Spade feature a suede upper with patent leather details resulting in a very luxurious, sophisticated look. Instead of a simple ankle strap, many designers are creating shoes with interesting ankle wraps or straps that go around the ankle a few times. These sandals put the attention on your feet with their special details.

Recently, I came across the Michael Antonio Devin sandal, which features a thick double-wrap strap along with a simple design. In the front, these flat thong sandals are pretty basic, but the closed heel cup and wrapping strap give them some extra oomph.

These sandals come in a variety of bold colors including the fuchsia and turquoise versions pictured here. Priced at just $39.95 at Endless, these Michael Antonio sandals are a great buy. A word of warning — I wouldn’t recommend shoes with thick ankle straps or wraps to women with short legs. The straps cut across the look of your leg, making your legs look even shorter.

If you are looking for something edgy and dramatic, check out these black croc-embossed sandals from the Donna Karan fall collection. These shoes are a bit too busy for my taste, but you can’t deny the effort put into all the details.

Over-the-knee boots are definitely glamorous, but I can’t imagine wearing them. Can you?

Gucci offers these stretch and patent leather platform boots that go up to a few inches above the knee. The pattern of the patent is certainly cool and I can imagine some celeb (or stripper?) really rocking these boots, but not much of anyone else.
