Mohop Sandals

Oftentimes, I come across some cool shoes from independent designers that are really worth talking about. Right now is one of those times. Mohop sandals are individually handcrafted by designers Annie Mohaupt and JoAnna Fleming in their studio in Chicago.
These sandals are environmentally friendly and comfortable, but more than that - Mohop sandals are totally innovative.
One pair of shoes can be customized into an endless amount of styles by changing the ribbons that tie the shoes on. By selecting ribbons in different lengths, styles and colors, you can change the look of these shoes entirely.
Mohop shoes are composed of rubber soling made from recycled tires, a Finnish birch plywood core, and then they are topped with various select veneers, such as Walnut and Cherry.
Mohop sandals come in low, mid and high versions of the wedge and bent ply soles. Personally I like the high cherry wedges pictured here, which cost $298.
You can find Mohop sandals at Mohop.com, GreenLoop.com and at dozens of retailers worldwide.
