Like most women, I love shoes. I mean, I really really really love them. Prior to the birth of my baby daughter, Lola, my shoe closet was my greatest accomplishment in life. Row after row of stunning, meticulously organized shoes. What could be better? The answer, of course, is more shoes. Fortunately, fall offers plenty of opportunities to stock up. Here are my top fantasy picks for fall:

Miu Miu Antic Crystal Ballet Slipper, $395, Neiman Marcus: So gorgeous, they’re almost enough to make me give up my heels. A brilliant mix of pink crackled leather, silver glitter and gold leather piping, these are soft-spoken and showy at the same time. Perfect.

Prada Gold Crocodile Open-Toe D’Orsay Pump, $1700, Neiman Marcus: You may not be able to pay rent after buying these shoes, but they are well worth it. At once of-the-moment and timeless, these stunning stilettos combine two of fall’s top trends: exotic skins and metallics.

Sergio Rossi Platform Patent Pumps, $535, Net-A-Porter.com: Patent is the hottest trend in shoes and bags this season, and these black pumps combine a round toe with a platform and heel in a contrasting wine color, to give a bit of a spin to a hot fall look.

Emilo Pucci Scallop Edge Sandals, $615, Net-A-Porter.com: Show stopping and truly unique, these sandals have a vintage-y glamour to them. Of black and gold crinkled patent leather, they feature gold straps, a gold heel, and a black and gold scalloped back.

Christian Louboutin Numero Prive Slingbacks, $690, Net-A-Porter.com: These are so fabulous and wardrobe-transforming, that I am tempted to call them a steal. These slingbacks are dusted with multicolored glitter and feature a gold heel and an open toe.

Miu Miu Wine and Pink Patent Pump, $525 at select Miu Miu boutiques, also available at Saks: Barbie-esque, but with an edge. Pink and red patent on the same shoe? Unbelievable. Why didn’t anyone think of this before. The very high heel and back of the shoe is in bright pink patent, while the rest is a stunning brick color with a spectator toe. Impossible to describe, and to resist. Ogle them for yourself on the cover of fall’s Elle Accessories magazine.

Roger Vivier Purple Satin Shoe, $1450, Bergdorf Goodman: Perched on a perilously high, superskinny heel, these sexy satin stilettos feature a slim ankle strap and a playful pouf of satin at the toe.

Diesel Feather Sandals, $650, Diesel stores: I’ve never equated Diesel with glamour, but this season, everyone’s pulling out the stops. These luscious raspberry-colored sandals feature a simple strappy style accented with a single feather fashioned out of leather.

D&G Patent Leather and Lucite Shoe, $1275: Artfully composed of cream patent leather combined with a gold-glitter encrusted Lucite heel, these peep toe pumps also feature a delicate ankle strap and silver sequined trip at the toe and back of the shoe.

Stella McCartney Hot Pink Satin Platform Pump, $595, Bergdorf Goodman: Like Minnie Mouse shoes, but in a good way, these fuschia pumps boast a four inch heel, round toe and a fabulous platform that sweeps up at the front.
