Designer Stuart Weitzman unveiled his “Retro Rose” shoe studded with over $1 million worth of Kwiat diamonds designed for Academy Award Nominee Diablo Cody on February 22, 2008 at the Stuart Weitzman store in Beverly Hills. And that’s where the controversy began …

Diablo, the former stripper turned screenwriter, apparently didn’t understand from Weitzman that she was expected to wear the shoes on Oscar night. Weitzman says the shoes cost more than $2.5 million to make!
