Rupert Sanderson for Karl Lagerfeld S/S 2010

For the second season in a row, Rupert Sanderson is collaborating with fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld. The Autumn/Winter 2009 collection was so well received that they are doing it again for Spring/Summer 2010.
In this new collection, Rupert re-interpreted two of his top-selling styles — Asteroid and Finesse. Giving the shoe a more modern, almost futuristic appeal, he designed a geometric heel inspired by Italian architect Gio Ponti. With the Asteroid, the ankle straps loop around the sole and are bolted in place for a dominatrix touch. This allow the top portion of the shoe to be interchanged.

If you want a hot pair of designer shoes on a discount, be sure to check the “Sales & Values” section at Neiman Marcus. Here, you can find a variety of high-end shoes with discounts generally between 30-75% off.
For an evening out, you can’t go wrong with Versace. These Versace metallic platform heels feature gold metallic leather and matching goldtone hardware. I saw these shoes in the store and they favor a more platinum color rather than brassy gold.
These Versace heels have a 3/4-inch platform and a 4 3/4-inch heel. Though they are a bit too tall for me (I’d …read more

Sometimes I find a shoe that I love and then I’m disappointed when it doesn’t come in a different color. That’s one thing that I really love about the Linea Paolo line — the majority of the styles come in at least four colors, oftentimes six or more.
The Linea Paolo Angelique Sandal is one of my new favorites. This sky-high sandal features a 5-inch heel and a 1 1/4-inch platform. The crisscross styling and retro appeal make these sandals a fab choice for the summer. Available at Nordstrom, these leather sandals are priced at $129.95 and come in six colors …read more

Shoes as Weapons Through the Ages

Shoes can do a lot more than just make a fashion statement. On several occasions throughout the ages, women’s boots and shoes actually have been used as weapons. When I first went to a self defense class many moons ago, they told us, “If an attacker is holding you from behind with no weapon, stomp on his foot with your high heel. He’ll release you in pain, then you can run like heck and get out of there.”
Though that’s not the best method for getting rid of an attacker, getting stomped by a stiletto is probably pretty painful. If you …read more

Low maintenance women wear comfortable shoes. By comfortable shoes, I don’t mean sneakers and flats. However, they are more apt to wear wedge heels than stilettos, and rounded toes rather than pointy. On the flip side, high maintenance women wear shoes …read more
Ugly Shoe of the Week: Star Ling Sandal
April 4, 2009 by Kori Ellis
With linked leather straps and a big platform, these sandals are just hideous. I generally like platform sandals but they should have at least a hint of femininity to them.
I’m not a fan of any of the sandals by Star Ling, but this pair is the worst in my opinion. Talk about clunky! Priced at $89.95, I guess their only redeeming quality is they aren’t expensive.
These sky-high shoes will definitely give you some height if you need it. The Star Ling Cortez Wedge Sandal has a 4 1/2 inch wedge heel and a 1 inch platform.
So what do you think? …read more
