For the second season in a row, Rupert Sanderson is collaborating with fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld. The Autumn/Winter 2009 collection was so well received that they are doing it again for Spring/Summer 2010.
In this new collection, Rupert re-interpreted two of his top-selling styles — Asteroid and Finesse. Giving the shoe a more modern, almost futuristic appeal, he designed a geometric heel inspired by Italian architect Gio Ponti. With the Asteroid, the ankle straps loop around the sole and are bolted in place for a dominatrix touch. This allow the top portion of the shoe to be interchanged.

Karl Lagerfeld Goes Gangsta?

Over at Fashionologie and Manolo’s Shoe Blog, I read about these “Miami Vice” shoes.
Apparently Karl Lagerfeld decided guns would look great as high heels and used this idea in these Chanel Cruise 2009 heels.
Lagerfeld was inspired by the image of a gun he saw and enlisted Chanel’s shoe designer Laurence decade to create these shoes. These aren’t just special edition shoes for the runways. You will actually see these shoes on the retail shelves.
