Be & D Kan Kan Platform Sandal on Oprah

Be & D ’s Kan Kan Platform Sandal was featured yesterday on Oprah’s “Bag and Shoe Intervention” show. Oprah couldn’t stop talking about them and I loved them too! You can find these shoes online at Shopbop or Zappos in your choice of black or taupe.

The $595 price tag isn’t small, but these shoes look well worth it. These leather sandals have a ruffled T-strap, 1 1/4-inch covered platform and sky-high 4 1/2-inch heel.

Ugly Shoe of the Week: Givenchy Wedges

For some reason, we are seeing a lot of bootie style shoes paired with spring fashions. I don’t like this look at all. Booties are great for fall and winter, but they aren’t my choice when the weather warms up.

They other day, I was at Saks Fifth Avenue and a woman was buying these Givenchy lace-up wedges and talking about how they’d go perfectly with her “floral skirt.”

Eavesdropping on the conversation, I couldn’t help but think, “Is she crazy? What happened to wearing sandals in the spring!?”

Anyway, I decided to name her new shoes as my Ugly Shoe of the Week. They feature a black leather upper, lace-up front and open toe. Personally, I wouldn’t wear these shoes, no matter what the season–especially not for spring. But if you love these shoes, you can get them at Saks for $795.

Studded Ballerina Flats

Here are two pair of designer flats that you will really love. Both these shoes features studded detailing.

The Giuseppe Zanotti studded ballerina comes in black leather and has a silver toe and studs. It’s a simple shoe that is all dressed up with the tiny studs. It’s available right now at Neiman Marcus for $595.

The other studded flat is from Oscar de la Renta. This shoe features a black suede upper highlighted with silvertone studs and embroidered insets. This shoe is dainty but has a little edge to it. It’s the same price at Neiman Marcus.

Studded shoes are going to be big for fall. Look for studded boots, pumps and flats.

Shiny, slick red patent pumps

Here are three more affordable choices in red pumps. These shoes are all available at Dillards.com. The shiny patent leather will add a touch of glamour to any outfit. All three pairs are very affordable!

Gianni Bini “Metro”

This red patent leather peep-toe has a sexy cut-out side. It’s priced at only $69. This shoe is also available in black patent and brown croc-embossed leather.

Antonio Melani “Jem”

This shoe features a different vamp that is more like a thick strap rather than your traditional peep-toe. The slick red patent leather shoe is just $89. It comes in patent animal print as well.

Arturo Chiang “Oliva”

I simply adore this shoe. The red patent leather is contrasted with black piping, sole and heel. I love the slingback style and sophisticated look. These shoes are $120. They are also available in black patent and white embossed leathers, trimmed in silver.

Feeling Green – Kurt Geiger Solea Storm

These menswear-inspired loafer pumps are certainly eye-catching. I love green, so these really caught my eye.

The Kurt Geiger Solea Storm features a lace-up front and an interesting stacked conical heel. You can order these leather shoes directly from kurtgeiger.com for £120.00 (which is a little under $240 USD).

Another fabulous green shoe is the Hollywould Orlene Heel pictured below from Heels.com. This sexy, criss-cross sandals feature green leather embossed with a reptile print. These are a luxury buy at nearly $500.

Gold Woven Wedges

Here’s three gold woven wedge shoes that are unique and fun.

The first is a Woven Slingback Wedge from the Fendi Collection at Bergdorf Goodman. This shoe features a peep-toe and some great styling.

I love the wood heel and the shiny gold leather upper. These are priced at $540.

This next shoe is also made of shiny gold woven leather. The heel is quite different than the first model though.

This Tory Burch Ashleigh Woven Peeptoe Wedge has a 1″ gold wedge and a flexible rubber sole.

These shoes feature a cute disc on the vamp and are available at Bloomingdale’s for $275.

The third wedge is completely different from the first two. This is a strappy cross-cross sandal in a gold braided leather. The knot at the vamp and slingback adjustable buckle are nice touches.

The Michael Kors Woven Wedge Sandal features a high wedge heel covered with the same braided/woven leather used in the rest of the shoe.
