Getting Into Metallics for Fall

Metallic sandals were big all summer and the metallic trend will continue well into fall. You don’t have to stick to just silver and gold; experiment with pewter, bronze, gunmetal and other metallic colors too. Whether you like your metallic shoes with a mirrored shine or something a little more matte, you have plenty of options.

Metallic Copper Fidji Mary Janes

Every once in a while I see a shoe that I hate at first glance. But then if I look at it again, I like it. Maybe I’m fickle or maybe certain shoe styles need a chance to grow on you.

Today I came across such a shoe from Nordstrom. This metallic copper Mary Jane from Fidji features a unique style that is a bit funky. Featuring a low heel, wide strap and brasstone detailing, this isn’t your traditional Mary Jane.

This shoe also comes in Black, Distresed Olive or Metallic Multi, though I prefer the copper version. I can imagine wearing these Mary Janes for fall.

Since we are on the subject of metallic braided shoes, I have to post one of my favorite shoes. The Christian Louboutin Marilou features gold metallic braided nappa leather throughout. This gorgeous shoe has a triple band fastened together with a ring braid over the toe.

I love everything about these shoes, including the adorable ankle strap. Of course these are pricey – $870 at Barneys New York, but dang they look good.

If you feel like spending a chunk of your paycheck on a new pair of shoes, I definitely think these are a fine choice.
