Fresh Sneakers for Fall

New Balance is introducing their Kaleidoscope 460 collection for fall. The 460 was launched in spring and was such a success that they made they updated for the fall season. These shoes are comfortable enough for casual wear but also great for working out or sports.

The 460 features a mesh upper and some terrific colorways. These shoes are available at DW, Journey’s and Rack Room, and retail for just $65.

I’m a big fan of the grey/pink edition at the bottom. What do you think?

Reebok Top Down Metallics Sneakers

I know that we don’t talk about athletic shoes that often here at ShoeBlitz. However, the other day I saw a woman wearing a very cute pair of purple metallic Reebok sneakers and I thought they were worth a look. She wore these shiny sneakers with a short skirt and tee for a very sporty look.

Though I’m generally not a fan of sneakers with skirts, it looked terrific on her. Her shoes were the Reebok Top Down Metallics Sneakers.

Puma’s New L.I.F.T. Racer

PUMA has created a new lightweight sneaker for both men and women. The L.I.F.T. Racer is set to hit Puma Concept stores and their online shop on Saturday, March 14, 2009.

The L.I.F.T. (which stand for Lite Injected Foam Technology) Racer is made using an injection molding process which eliminates the need for glue, cuts down of the use of excess material, and creates a lightweight performance shoe.

Whether you are an avid runner or just want a new casual shoe for days of shoppping, this sneaker fits the bill. It’s functional, stylish and breathable with a combination of microsuede trim and oval mesh.

Platform Sneakers

I’ve never quite understood the appeal of platform sneakers. We have seen them in all shapes, sizes and designs over the last couple years. Here’s another – this time from See by Chloe.

The high heel sneaker features a 4 1/2 inch wedge heel and a rubber sole. The most that I can say for this shoe is at least it’s yellow (the hottest color for spring).

What do you think about platform sneakers? What would you wear this one with?

Converse Spring 2009 Collection – The Who

Previously we told you about the Converse Music Collection commemorating legendary rock artists such as The Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath and The Doors. Now for Spring 2009, Converse is introducing more from this collection. The upcoming releases celebrate pioneering rock stars including The Who, Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd.

The first shoes being released are for The Who. This All Star Hi Top above features the band’s signature Union Jack printed on a canvas upper. The Who shoe is available now at at Journeys for just $54.99. Two other colorways pictured below are part of The Who series as well. These two shoes are available at converse.com.

The Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd versions are expected to release in February and March. I’ll provide you with a sneak peek at the Ozzy and Pink Floyd shoes as soon as I can.
