Michael Kors Pareh Gladiator Sandals

If you thought you got rid of gladiator sandals for good at the end of last summer, you thought wrong. Gladiator sandals are back this spring.

It’s no secret that I’m not the biggest fan of gladiator sandals and it’s probably because last year they were everywhere and on everybody. This spring, I hope that people learn to wear them in moderation.

If I were to choose a gladiator sandal for myself, I’d select a high heeled version like this one from the KORS Michael Kors label. This shoe features stud detailing and a 4-inch stacked cone heel.

Yves Saint Laurent Cage Bootie

Last week we showed you these cage sandals on the red carpet and now here’s another pair of shoes of similar style. The Yves Saint Laurent cage bootie features the same type of heel and a metallic cage motif.

These booties are made from anthracite metallic leather and have a peep toe. Though these shoes are definitely dramatic, they don’t look comfortable at all. Would you wear these cage booties? If so, you can get them now at Neiman Marcus for $1,290.

Believe it or not, the bootie trend isn’t ending with the cold weather. This spring, look for a number of booties with peeptoes and cut-out sides in metallics and bright colors for a springtime appeal.

Fringe is In for Spring

Fringed boots, shoes, handbags and other accessories were very popular for fall and winter. That trend continues for spring 2009 as we are seeing many fabulous fringed shoes from top designers.

Christian Louboutin introduced this bold fringe pump in bright magenta suede. These shoes feature a buckled ankle strap that is accented by a layer of dangling fringe.

These Christian Louboutin pumps are definitely not for the faint of heart as they are certainly attention-getters. I think these shoes would look terrific with a little black dress or colorful slinky frock for springtime. If you love these pumps but don’t like the color, they also come in black. They are available now at Neiman Marcus for $1,095.

Black and White Coach Sandals

This spring look for shoes in all types of patterns – from florals to animal prints to abstracts. These black and white sandals from Coach feature an artsy print. To kick things up a notch, you can also get them in a coral/pink combination instead of the black and white.

Another popular trend in spring shoes is the ankle wrap tie like in these sandals. Ankle ties give sandals a boho appeal.
