2010 Resort Collections Preview

I know… it’s not even wintertime yet. But today, let’s take a look at a preview from some of the 2010 Resort shoe collections. When it gets bitter cold this winter, you can have these colorful shoes to look forward in spring! All these shoes are available now to pre-order from Bergdorf Goodman.

Dior Patent Bow Slide
Simple yet stylish, these patent leather slides from Dior feature a bow detail on the front and glossy rose fuchsia patent leather. These Dior slides also come in black and are priced at $490. They are expect to ship in early March.

YSL Tribute Painted Platform Sandals
Lots of platform sandals will be on the shelves for spring. These bright orange painted leather sandals feature a stacked platform and heel. They also come in purple. Priced at $760, these Yves Saint Laurent sandals will ship no later than February 8, 2010.

Christian Louboutin Double-Platform Knotted Mule
The suede might say winter but the turquoise color definitely says spring. These platform shoes from Christian Louboutin feature a knotted detail over the peeptoe and a delicate ankle strap. These mules are priced at $895. They are on backorder right now and expected to ship in early January.

Rene Caovilla Floral Ruffle Sandal
These flirty ruffled sandals from Rene Caovilla will add a burst of color to any outfit. These gold leather sandals are also available for pre-order at Bergdorf Goodman at $975. These shoes are expected to ship no later than December 7, 2009.

J. Reneé Elvira Pump

For a shoe that’s a little unique, check out the J. Reneé ‘Elvira’ Pump. It’s not exactly a pump — more like an open-toe mule. These ruched satin shoes feature an abstract bow over the toe and an interesting silhouette.

These shoes come in four fabulous colors for spring and summer — pink, teal, bone and papaya (shown). You can order these shoes from Nordstrom for just $89.95. They would be a great complement to summer dresses or cropped pants.

Ugly Shoe of the Week: Givenchy Wedges

For some reason, we are seeing a lot of bootie style shoes paired with spring fashions. I don’t like this look at all. Booties are great for fall and winter, but they aren’t my choice when the weather warms up.

They other day, I was at Saks Fifth Avenue and a woman was buying these Givenchy lace-up wedges and talking about how they’d go perfectly with her “floral skirt.”

Eavesdropping on the conversation, I couldn’t help but think, “Is she crazy? What happened to wearing sandals in the spring!?”

Anyway, I decided to name her new shoes as my Ugly Shoe of the Week. They feature a black leather upper, lace-up front and open toe. Personally, I wouldn’t wear these shoes, no matter what the season–especially not for spring. But if you love these shoes, you can get them at Saks for $795.
