Be & D ’s Kan Kan Platform Sandal was featured yesterday on Oprah’s “Bag and Shoe Intervention” show. Oprah couldn’t stop talking about them and I loved them too! You can find these shoes online at Shopbop or Zappos in your choice of black or taupe.

The $595 price tag isn’t small, but these shoes look well worth it. These leather sandals have a ruffled T-strap, 1 1/4-inch covered platform and sky-high 4 1/2-inch heel.

Gorgeous Paris Hilton Destiny Pumps

I was browsing through Macy’s and fell in love with these peep toe pumps at first glance. I didn’t realize they were Paris Hilton brand shoes until I looked at them up close! Admittedly, I’m not a big fan of hers but the girl knows her shoes (and fragrances, so I’ve heard!).

How adorable at these Destiny Pumps ($89)? I’m in love with the combination of the black ribbon and pewter leather. The heel measures high at 4.5″ but there’s a hidden 3/4″ platform so they won’t feel too high. There’s also an all black version if you something something a little less, flashy. These Paris Hilton shoes would be perfect to wear on a night out on the town, to a dinner date and a party – definitely a fun shoe that will get you loads of compliments.

Valentino Spotlight Sequined Silver Pumps

As I mentioned on The List Maven, sequins have made a bit comeback this season and that usually also translates into our footwear options. Not to be outdone Valentino has come out with an amazing pair of silver sequined pumps that would be quite a fantastic choice to wear for a swanky party or New Year’s Eve.

These Valentino Spotlight Sequined Pumps ($795) will definitely command the spotlight when you wear them. I love the combination of sequins with faux pearls. It sounds like it would be a bit much but they actually go quite well with each other. A peep toe pump is always a sexy option for evenings and this one is a winner. The heel is 4.75″ and features a hidden platform.

If you’re not one to dare the fashion gods and wear a sequined dress, these sequined pumps will be an easier and more wearable alternative. Dress them up or dress them down, you can’t go wrong with these pretty heels. Pick them up at Bergdorf Goodman.

Under $100 Ankle Boots from Macys

Boots are a Fall and Winter season staple and while knee-high and mid-calf boots are classics, another style, ankle boots are really popular now. And everyone can wear them, not just the ‘young and hip’. I was browsing through Macy’s and found 4 super cute ankle boots under $100 that I thought you all would appreciate.

Nine West Phantom Peep Toe ($99) If you’re looking for a basic but not boring black pair of ankle boots these are a great choice. The cut out detail on the side is really sexy, as is the little peep toe.

Chinese Laundry Wiz Boot ($79) I really like the slouchy style of these booties. The heel is a bit thick so it’ll be easier to walk in too. The grey suede is perfect for fall and these will go with just about everything. This also comes in a brown colour.

Style&Co Westie Bootie ($69.99) The colour of this is called ‘mink grey’ but it looks more olive-grey to me. Maybe its the way it was photographed? In any case, it’s quite cute and nicely priced too! It’s available in black and the stacked heel is listed at 4″ but these will feel more like 3.5″ due to the 1/2″ platform.

Hush Puppies Colette Bootie ($95) Now if you really want to get a pair of ankle booties that will get you compliments, these are it. This a beautiful blue colour (also avilable in black and brown) and the heel is a modest 3.5″, great shoe to wear every day this season!

Red Hot Valentino Couture Pumps

The holidays are coming up very soon! My favourite colour is red so it’s just another of the very many reasons why I love this time of year. Red is a wonderful colour for Fall and it compliments just about everyone. There are also very many shades to choose from as well – deep wine reds, burgundy, to blue tone and coral reds. One of my favourite red shades is lipstick red and these Valentino heels have got me drooling…

These oh so pretty Valentino Couture Patent Leather Pumps ($745) are pretty amazing. They’re feminine, sexy and a bit racy. How fabulous is are the sculptural bows on the front? They’re sweet and vampy at the same time. These pumps are meant to be worn with a short dress for maximum exposure and well, drama.

Kelsi Dagger Rosabella Booties

With the influx of ankle boots or as some call them booties, it’s getting harder and harder to choose which ones to invest in. There are so many different styles, shapes, colours and textures to choose from and most of them are so cute. Questions you should ask yourself are: Do you want something simple and streamlined? Do you want embellishments? Do you want platform, heels or wedges?

I found a pair of ankle boots for you to consider in your hunt for the perfect pair. They’re by Kelsi Dagger and I must say, I totally love them.

These Kelsi Dagger Rosabella Platform Ankle Boots ($200) are dramatic without being too over the top. I like the mix of materials with the smooth nappa leather and suede rosette accent. The colours above are black/grey and aubergine (plum). If I were you I’d go for the aubergine shade because these are the type of shoes that should be the star to your outfit, not the background singer. They’re quite high at 5″ but the platform sole is 3/4″, so it’s only a little over 4″.

Are you thinking about what outfits to wear these with? I actually picture these with a simple outfit; jeans, a white tee and a taupe sweater cardigan with minimal accessories. For evenings, definitely a little black dress!

Hot! Charlotte Olympia Maxine Sandals

I’m sure you saw those gorgeous pink and gold Christian Louboutin heels I showcased yesterday. Heck, I’m still drooling over them! Are you ready for more brightly coloured shoes? I found another worthy selection and this time it’s from Charlotte Olympia.

If you’re not familiar with Charlotte Olympia, you should be because her line of shoes are truly one of a kind. In fact, each one is adorned with the company’s signature gold spider web on the sole. This is a similar branding technique that CL shoes have with the red soles. Clever marketing strategy or just fun decoration? Either way, they are lovely shoes.

The Charlotte Olympia Maxine Sandals ($825) are definitely a ‘going out’ kind of shoe. These are not meant to be worn on casual outings, unless of course that’s your style in which case, kudos to you!

As you can see these are some seriously glam shoes. The combined colours, dark plum suede and metallic fuschia is a really playful way to incorporate this Fall’s it colour. The heel is quite hight at 5.5″ inches but the platform island measures 1″ so technically they’re only 4.5″ heels. A cake walk for some!

What I really love about these shoes is the fun zipper fastening at the front. They’re similar in style to gladiator heels which are also a major trend. If you love these you can purchase them at the Net-A-Porter website.

I’m Loving Nanette Lepore

What I love about designer Nanette Lepore’s clothing line is the immense amount of utter femininity and sophistication in her designs, especially the dresses. Looking at her clothing always makes me grateful to be a girl, heh. This also applies when I come across her shoes.

The Nanette Lepore Lovin You shoes are so fabulously retro yet modern. I adore the flirty bow on the back! These shoes will stand apart from a crowd and that crowd won’t be able to help looking at you when you walk away. The peep toe is classic while the fun cut outs on the sides are sexy.

The colour is quite pretty too, the combination of gold and black give these platform pumps a cool, dressy feel. The heel is high at 4 3/4″ but the platform is 1/2″ so really it’s only a bit over 4″, not too bad for those of you who are used to walking in 4″ heels. If you’re not, these Nanette Lepore shoes are a great excuse to start practicing!

Fashion Week Spring 2010: Dennis Basso

Though I’m not incredibly familiar with Dennis Basso, I loved his Spring 2010 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The beautiful ball gowns and party dresses with full skirts were so flirty, feminine and fun. I adored the flowing fabrics and one-shoulder designs.

Dennis Basso complemented his girly-girl fashions with open toe platform shoes. Some with ankle straps and some without, they were generally the same silhouette. For spring parties, you can’t go wrong with a platform pumps and sandals.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite dresses (and the shoes) from the Dennis Basso Spring 2010 collection.
