A Blend of Something Awesome

I don’t know know a lot about cars, or technology at all, to be honest – I just know what I like.
And I also know I love innovation. And, lets face it, there’s been a lot of that. Like the invention of the engine, the first vehicle to be super safe, the first vehicle to be incredibly powerful.

Kitchenaid
To that end, there’s been lots of designers that mastered their craft. This has led to techie innovations such as satellite radio, MP3 devices and Bluetooth.
Kia wasn’t the first at any of these. But when it comes to putting all of this into a compact car, they ARE.
And thus we have the incredibly cool Forte. It’s safe, it’s inexpensive, it’s pretty darn sexy – and it just happens to be fuel-efficient, making it perfect for this era of economic uncertainty.
In order to attempt to build awareness about the new Kia Forte, they are encouraging people to go fan their Facebook page.
After you go fan their page, and then Tweet me (@alywalansky) with your thoughts on this innovation, and what you think makes the Kia Forte so incredibly cool, you become eligible to win a grand prize – not a car, sorry! – but a very cool Kitchenaid then giving away either the KitchenAid Pro 500 Bowl-Lift Mixer mixer worth $400!
Five runners-up will each win a $10 Crate & Barrel Gift Card. To have extra entries in this contest, please RT this contest, and also repost it to your various social networking sites – and become a fan of me as well, on Facebook, and tell me a – why you think compact cars are a fabulous innovation, and b – 3 other shopping bits of brilliance you discovered on ShopaholicsDaily this week.
Deadline to enter is August 30.

I became a fan of Kia Forte on Facebook and tweeted you.
Compact cars are awesome. Living in a major metropolitan area, it is actually INCONSIDERATE to drive an oversized vehicle, unless it is absolutely necessary (such as for people with a large family). We all need to share the road, and the STREET PARKING!
Compact cars like the Kia Forte also are not gas guzzlers, so we are saving money every time we fill up, and we are helping the environment by not giving off excessive fumes.
This week I learned about the “dome” shaped purse trend (they are cute!), the latest items on sale at ideeli (wahoooo!), and the SHOE of the MONTH membership (amazing).
PS: I fanned Kia Forte, and retweeted!
