Being a Savvy Shopper – Today’s Shopping Tip

Okay, I’m back from our first walk around downtown Chicago and I’m liking it… a lot. More about that tomorrow. But I have a really good tip for you. It has everything to do with reading the menu when you order in from a restaurant menu. I didn’t do that when we stopped at The Elephant and Castle for dinner. I’m obviously still thinking that I’m in England and I have to put that behind me. Anyway, I ordered a glass of Merlot to go with my roast beef stuffed Yorkshire Pudding and it was so good, that I ordered a second glass. First of all, I’m extremely light headed as I type this entry but that’s not the point of this entry. The point is that I didn’t know that each glass would cost me $11.00. So, tonight I spent $22.00 on two glasses of wine. And, I didn’t even finish the second glass!
So today’s shopping tip… read the menu before you order. Same goes with price tags. It will save you a big surprise when the bill arrives.
