Circus acts and prizes delight shoppers at Eastgate Shopping Centre

jugglerShoppers were dazzled by balancing acts, an illusionist and a ‘world globe’ juggling act at the Barclaycard stand at Eastgate Shopping Centre this weekend.

“While these acts of legerdemain wowed young and old alike, the true hero of the performance was Barclaycard itself. The perfectly groomed promoters told onlookers more about Barclaycard’s unique product offering and the chance to win a Carrol Boyes tea set and dinner service for eight to the value of R20 000….

And the intention… to get the Barclaycard into shopper’s hot little hands.

I have to admit, I might be a little more receptive to a company that actually goes out of their way to entertain me. From last recollection, I was stopped in the aisle, which interrupted my shopping and a clerk went out of her way to convince me that I really needed their card. That simply irritated me.
