Halloween Costume Tip : Indiana Jones

My son wants to be Indiana Jones this year. A little boring but hey, that’s what he wants to be. Wal-Mart has an Indiana Jones costume set, minus the hat and whip priced for $19 (in-store), while other stores like Toys ‘R’ Us is selling it (with hat) for about $30-$35.
Naturally, you’d go for the one from Wal-Mart. I advise you not to. Not even the one from Toys ‘R’ Us, or even Ebay. The quality of the costume is cheap. Don’t let the picture fool you. That costume in the picture is from Toy ‘R’ Us, it’s the same costume Wal-Mart is selling. The pants feels like pajamas and it’ll hug your child’s legs. It’s really not a good material.
I’ve decided to come up with my own Indiana Jones that my son could actually use after Halloween. Well except the whip and fedora hat.
I’ve ordered a fedora hat and whip set from Ebay for $14.99 (like this). Next is the dark khakis/cargos which is $7 from Wal-Mart. All that’s left are tan dress shirt or a shirt and a brown jacket. Both items I could easily find anywhere. He’s already got a pair of boots so that’s covered. My son would look like Indiana Jones in a nice and presentable way. AND, he could use the pants, shirt and even the hat if he wants too after Halloween.
