Clean & Clear Morning Burst Oil Absorbing Sheets

I once heard that Courteney Cox uses disposable toilet liners from public restrooms to blot the oil from her face in a pinch. Clever? Totally. Disgusting? Uh…just a smidge.

Until recently, blotting that extra shine from my face was always done with powder. Usually, this occurred two or three times a day. But when you think about it, adding more gunk on top of gunk can’t be a good thing. So imagine my delight when I had the chance to try the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Oil Absorbing Sheets.

I had heard of such things before, these oil-absorbing doo-dads, but I always assumed they were little pieces of toilet liners ripped up and packaged all pretty to suck up the disposable income of all the shiny, happy chicklets of the world. But, seeing as how I am now a bit obsessed with Clean & Clear products, I gave them a shot.

And OMG! I am soooo glad I did. Here’s why:

  • First off, these are not toilet liners at all. They look like little pieces of those cheap, plastic table cloths. They are packaged in a small, thin box about the size of a compact (only skinnier) and easily tuck away wherever you need them.
  • Because of the “Morning Burst” scent, they deliver an instant pick-me-up. The smell is fresh while you’re using it, but does not leave a lasting or overpowering scent on your face.
  • Even when I’m in a hurry and swipe, rather than blot, my makeup still stays in place while the shine disappears. And they don’t leave powder or any other pore-clogging substances behind. Horray!
  • They’re gentle enough to use on and around your nose and other susceptible areas.
  • They’re inexpensive and totally worth the $5 bucks or so that they’ll cost you.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend these little gems. I truly believe my face has cleared up all the more since I’m not layering powder over the oil that was already in place a few times a day. You can find them at most major retailers (Target, WalMart) and at Drugstore.com.

A word of warning, though. If you’re the curious type and plan to inspect the sheet after you wipe, be prepared. You will cringe at the amount of shine these babies pick up. It’s completely gross to see, but just think: that could’ve been on your face! Gah!
