I’m off to California!

I’m about to skip town for a few days – it’s a hard life and work has me flying off to Ojai, California for a few days.

I’m a historically overzealous packer. Like, to the point of ridiculousness. And thus, despite the fact that I will only be there for three days, look at all I am carrying with me!

I’ve been intrigued by hard-case luggage for a while, and finally found the perfect unit to start my collection. The Heys USA Xcase 20-inch is perfect for a long weekend and is super lightweight too. Plus, and this was a mind-decider for me: It comes in hot pink. Heys USA tends to be a little bit on the splurge-worthy side of life, but right now you can get this (in your choice of like a gazillion colors) for $80 at ebags.com – the MSRP is about $200, so that’s a steal of a deal!

However, even though this is a three-day trip, and this case would be enough for a normal person, I am not exactly normal. I will not be carrying-on my luggage, and while this shall be perfect to check, I need a carry-on bag as well.

I was a little undecided about the ideal bag…I tend to overpack in that area as well, until one of my best friends bought me the most adorable computer case of all time for my birthday.

A Betseyville by Betsey Johnson black with white polka dots and pink bowed case, it’s pretty much totally perfect for me. It even has a pink corded strap up the middle with straps that are black with black patent handles!

This is perfect for safe-keeping iZac (my beloved black MacBook) during the trip, and I realized I needed an appropriate bag to put the laptop case inside of. And then…I found it!
My fave web-shopping destination, SmartBargains.com, has a Betsey Johnson’s Betseyville Cat’s Meow Patent Weekender for $79. It’s a major fashion statement with faux black patent leather details and a racy leopard print…it really is the cat’s meow! (And I say this as a dog person.) Plus, it’s pink as well…meaning my makeshift set is a set indeed, and I’m all set for California.

All I have to do now is pack…
