Inappropriate Juicy Couture Clothing For Babies & Girls

I was never really a big fan of Juicy Couture. It’s only now that I’m recognizing that the brand does have some nice stuff. Like the pink and blue watches, and the pink quilted vest. Those items are harmless. When I see clothes that has the word “JUICY” to indicate it’s brand across the chest of a top or the across the behind of a velour pants, I’m disturbed. I can’t imagine sane parents actually buying them for their daughters to wear. It doesn’t look good on a grown woman, it’s trying too hard as matter of fact. On little girls? it’s just a total lack of sense from parents.

Mothers could stay in their denial world and argue that I or the rest of sane population are putting too much into it. Mothers would say that the word “JUICY” plastered on their daughter’s chest or behind refers to the brand. Oh so trendy brand. C’mon. You kidding me? Not everyone is familiar with Juicy Couture. When your daughter steps out of your driveway, people are not going to say, “Oh My look how cute the girl is with her Juicy Couture slogan shirt.” Instead they’ll say, “where are her parents? why is she walking around with the word “JUICY” across her butt?”.
I’m not saying to just completely nix Juicy Couture altogether. Like I intimated above, it has some cool stuff. Clothing that says “CUTE” or “PRINCESS” or maybe even “SPOILED BRAT” from other clothing brands are not that bad. Common sense people, common sense. That’s All.

Ugh Juicy Couture track suits have always bothered me (their un “logo-ed” stuff are cute tho). I never got the appeal of wearing “juicy”, “sexy”, “angel” etc on clothing. And I’d seriously question the judgment of the parents’ who actually buy these things for their kids. What kind of message is that sending? It’s not cute or funny, it’s TACKY.
Juicy Couture is a brand that I enjoy many things from whether it be shoes, jewelry, or clothing; they’re all of good quality. I could understand some people questioning the “JUICY” logo on the tracksuits, jeans, etc., but I think everyone is overlooking WHY anyone from the ages of 8-15 wear Juicy Couture. It’s for adults, it’s for our peers! Juicy Couture is a brand that is somewhat expensive and luxurious (and very popular among teens!) The reason we wear Juicy is to impress everyone around us, for other people to say, “Ohmigosh! She has a JC tracksuit!” and, “OH EM GEE! Look how cute her Juicy clogs are!” And to apart of the article above where it was said that “not everbody knows about Juicy Couture” is right and wrong; pretty much every teenage girl knows about the brand. No, not adults but we’re not doing this for the adults. We’re doing it for ourselves, and the other girls in our grade.
You can rant all you want about how the parents are making a mistake by buying one’s child a pair of sweats that says “Juicy Girl” down the. “It’s innapropriate!” and, “Where are the parents?!” are overreactions. It’s just a clothing line for teenagers; not for middle-aged women.
Oh Honey. I’ll be prudent and not reply what I really think to what you just posted for your sake.
While i can’t exactly say i would allow my daughter (who is currently still a free floating non corporal mass) to wear anything saying JUICY on it, I have the say that the clothing cut isn’t really so bad. It’s covering and reasonable and aside from the bad connotations of the logo doesn’t offend me as much as say a thigh high mini skirt of thongs for a 10 year old (which i have seen) would.
I’m a mother of two girls and I absolutly LOVE Juicy clothing! My daughters and I have matching track suits and we get great comments everytime we wear them, If thats all you have to do in life is complain about a clothing line and if Juicy on the pants or shirts are really appropriate, than you should probably invest in a hobby. So a lack of sense in the parents? please!!!!!
jessie, yes please!! BTW, I do have hobbies. I Scrapbook and I do a lot things with my glue gun. Most of my time is spent working at home, taking care of my home, kids and husband. But I still have time to be appropriate and do my favorite hobbies. Thanks!
This seems unfair, you are ranting on about juicy but, juicy is not the first one to do it. Many brands have T-shirts or track suits that show off the brand name. Juicy couture is a nice brand in my mind, though it differs through the clothing range you are looking at, of course if you are a 10 year old and shop for teens then of course the clothes will be more mature!
Why wasn’t my last comment posted? I feel insulted. First of all, madame, you need to pursue a serious hobby (scrapbooking and obedient wifery don’t cut it). Second of all, only someone with a negative mental connotation would consider this as something inappropiate. As a 15-year-old female, I personally like the clothing line. I would also like to invite you to read one of my online articles about post-feminism, which I’m sure you’ll find enlightening (tone of irony here).
Pegah, sometimes comments go to spam box and I just don’t have time to dig into 300 piles of spam when I could be working, paying bills, taking care of two kids, my house, my self, my husband, errands, my hobbies that I love so much, living life, with friends and all the people that I love. My life perfectly cuts it for me. I might read your article one day but right now I have to work. My parents don’t get to pay my bills and buy my clothes anymore.
Ummm….Dexie can you please stop “attacking” these kids with your sarcasm and grow up? When you blog about something (especially something as trivial and pathetic as this) you have to expect people to reply. Why are you blogger people so touchy??? If you haven’t heard opinions are like butt holes (and Juicy tracksuits), everyone has one! Lol! And lastly, you’re talking alot of trash about Juicy, but you have neglected to put up any pictures of children’s pants or track bottoms with Juicy across the butt. That is all, and goodnight!
Meg, why are people who comment so touchy? Like I’ve said in the post, I actually like some Juicy Couture stuff. I’ve posted some of them after this post. You guys just need to venture out the archives page more.
Wow…the world is experiencing a new form of blitzkrieg: the 40 yo soccer mom….Mon dame, Ms. Anthony didn’t stand for hours in protest fro you to be thinking like this in the 21st century….I mean, I think you should be more worried about other issues children face nowdays…ignorance (I can see where they get it from now). So, please Miss “Dexie”, the first thing I think of when I hear “juicy” is apple or fruit..and I’m not exactly a purette. May I recommand yoga?
Miss Pegah, no thanks, I prefer Pilates.
