I love finding especially unique, beautiful pieces.

Nicole Vazquez
I love it even more when said pieces are from emerging, independent designers.
Nicole Vazquez is that sort of designer. Anything you order from her web store will be made for you by the artist personally – by hand – and then shipped beautifully wrapped.
Can you even dream of that from the big-name department stores?
Even more than that, her stuff is just delightfully whimsical and cute. My favorite piece of all is her Rosey-Posey Bracelet.
It is crafted with rose colored czech glass tear drop beads and finished off with a sterling silver toggle and a very large heart charm. All this for $80 – and it’s HANDMADE. How unbelievable is that???
I have one of these bracelets to give away – to a very lucky reader. To have your chance to win, please share what you have ever received in your life that was homemade and extra-special. Winner will be chosen at random from the responses. Deadline to enter is August 1!

My daughter used to draw gorgeous pictures of hands holding roses and she made me a card when she was a child; it was just a pencil drawing, but to me it was priceless. I still have it.
When she grew up and became a jewelry designer she made me one of her roses out of silver.
Thanks

That’s a beautiful bracelet. I think some of my favorite handmade gifts are the baby blankets I was given when pregnant with my 1st two children…especially the items made by my Aunt who has since passed away.
My husband and I do not have our own children, but are fortunate enough to have a best friend who has made us godparents. This past year for Mother’s Day, my 3 godchildren, ages 9, 4, and a few months old at the time, made me a sunflower. For the petals, they traced their hands. The outer petals are the oldest boys, the middle petals the 4 year old, and the little inner petals are the babies hand prints. They hand painted a coffee can for the pot and planted the flower in it and gave it to me for Mothers Day. I treasure it.
I received a homemade beaded bracelet from my best friend that was really special and I wear it all the time.
my sisters and I made a special scrapbook for our parent’s celebrating their anniversary! i think that was the best hand made gift ever even though i didn’t recieve it!
my bf made me this amazing bracelet and he did such a good job and the best thing was that it wasn’t for a special occasion but just because! =)
My daughter made me a braided bracelet when she was small, she’s 17 now and I still have it ♥
