They might be a cliche present, but I think cuff links are a great gift idea for dad (if he wears cuffed shirts, of course). You can get cuff links in every size, shape, color and price range imaginable. So you are sure to find something that he’ll like that will fit your budget. Here are a few pairs of cuff links that are available right now at Saks Fifth Avenue. Any of them will make a terrific Father’s Day gift.
John Hardy Lapis Lazuli Cuff Links
These square silver cuff links feature beautiful blue lapis. They are perfect for any French cuff shirt. Priced at $695, they aren’t cheap but they are gorgeous.

Go for the Bronze!

Metallic handbags and shoes are a hot choice this summer. But instead of silver or gold, look from something a little different — like bronze or pewter. Recently, I came upon this bronze Marc Jacobs bag at Neiman Marcus. It’s gorgeous!

The Jen zip-top shoulder bag features rich bronze metallic leather complemented with goldtone hardware. The bag is gently pleated in the front and has round top handles, which are attached by square rings.
This large leather bag is 16-inches wide — big enough to carry all your essentials but not overwhelming. You can get the Marc Jacobs Jen at Neiman Marcus for $825.

If you haven’t noticed from last week’s Confessions of a Shopaholic contest (still going on!), I’m super excited about the June 23rd DVD release of Confessions of a Shopaholic. And why not? It’s about a broke fashion junkie journalist who writes about BUDGETING…and has boy problems. It’s totally the most realistic movie of all time!
And, I’m even MORE excited that we have a rare treat: A Q&A with Isla Fisher herself - about, of course - SHOPPING. (Cause what else would it be about???)
Are you a Shopaholic?
No I am not a Shopaholic, I don’t shop very well at all. I tend to buy things which end up not being quite right – whether it is a clothing item that does not match anything in my wardrobe, or some cooking apparatus that is utterly useless. I am just not that good at it.
What was your favorite outfit in “Confessions of a Shopaholic”?
I liked the purple dress that Rebecca wears on the TV show – I thought it was classy. But I am not too into fashion because I am more of a jeans and T-shirt girl. Thanks to Patricia Field I have become more confident about the way I dress. But I am more comfortable in trainers or Ugg boots.
Is it true you requested five-inch stilettos for this part?
I did. I thought there’s something funny about a Shopaholic impractically buying ridiculously high heels and tottering throughout the stores. I thought it would be amusing. But it was less amusing, of course, when I was actually doing it!
Did your feet ache at the end of each day?
Yes! My feet ached constantly, they really did! In my every day life I would not wear shoes like those.
How was working with costume designer Patricia Field on your wardrobe?
She’s incredibly imaginative. She’s not married to any designers and she’s open minded. Every single look tells a story.

Grecian Chic

Do you remember Helen of Troy?
Maybe you should rent the DVD - because she is inspiring a lot of style this summer.
The ancient goddesses (and temptresses) were all about the toga, and the drapery trend looks a lot like what they used to don. You’ll see a lot of it, too, in creams and flesh-tones - also reminiscent - and is a great way to summer our inner goddess!
You probably already saw a variant of this trend in the maxi dress…but I think this specific draping Grecian-like look was revived when our gorgeous First Lady wore a one-shoulder variant to the inauguration ball.
Shown here: Zoe Tees Black Riviera Grecian Style Dress, $195 at MyWardrobe.com - how hot is this? And imagine all the sins it can hide. We love drapery, oh yes we do. I’d add it with gold gladiator sandals, to complete the look.

If you are looking for a leather bag that you can carry season in and season out, this Tory Burch satchel definitely fits the bill. With rich cognac leather and a chic shape, this handbag can become your go-to bag for everyday.
At 12 1/2 inches wide, it’s a medium sized bag with a roomy interior. Inside you will find a zip pocket, as well as a couple slip pocket for your cell phone and other essentials. The bottom of this structured bag is protected with metal feet to avoid scratches.

You can find the Tory Burch “Nico” leather satchel at Nordstrom and other department stores. It’s priced at $450. Even though that’s a big chunk of cash, consider how often you will be able to use it.
More Retro-Chic: The A-Line Dress Returns
June 15, 2009 by Aly Walansky

Think back to Ginger and Mary Ann.
Jeanie.
This list goes on. (And on.)
How can you not remember the absolutely hot 60s-style A-line shift dress?
It’s a little vintage, ever so slightly mod, but classically gorgeous - and it’s back!
A great example of a now-take on this retro look is the Milly Fabulous Obelisk A Line Shift Dress. It’s a very “uptown” look, and would look great with gold jewelry and upswept hair, my fave part is the buckled self-belt at empire waist and slant pockets at hip.
Another reason I love this style: ANYONE can wear it! Whether you are 25 or 55, it is an appropriate choice, and the A-line silhouette is very forgiving to our “curves”, skimming over the stomach and hips.
Totally cute - I’m down with this trend. (And perhaps this dress.)
