Saturday’s… What’s On My Mind: Back to School Shopping

I’ve been reading a lot about “back to school” sales and I really feel for the kids. Where I live, school is still a good month away. When I was that age, I certainly didn’t want to be reminded that school was just around the corner and I’m sure that hasn’t changed. But, with the economy the way it is, parents need all the help they can get. Here’ s the latest on what you can expect!

Bells ring earlier for school shopping… and it’s because back to school shopping is coming in right after Christmas shopping. That is a lot of money being spent and it’s beginning earlier than ever before and stores are trying every trick in the book to get you beyond the doors.

What’s hot for back to school — and what it means to your wallet… well here is a surprise for me. Kids now want their school supplies to all be co-ordinated. While we at least cared (a little bit) that we had ENOUGH supplies, I don’t remember our school supplies being THAT important. We were more interested in all the new clothes that we wanted. Now that I think about it, I was one rotten kid. Believe it or not, we weren’t allowed to wear blue jeans to school so as a result, we all wanted to look like models… wardrobe and all.

10 Tips for Smart Back-to-School Shopping… You are going to love this list. It makes soooo much sense. I especially like the one about quality vs quantity  and separating want from need.

Back-to-school shopping season has started… Staples, the store, has it all figured out. Go and take a look!
