Let’s face it, all that fashion week coverage is pretty darn intimidating.

A lot of us want practical advice for what’s hot now – how to wear it – and where to find it.

And that’s what I’m here to (try to) do!

Jennifer Stone

To help me out, I’ve sent out a few questions to some hot new young celebs on the Hollywood scene. They shared some of their thoughts on current fall fashion hotness!

First up, Jennifer Stone of “Wizards of Waverly Place”:

1. How to achieve a great fall look?

When I want to really find a great look for fall, I decide before hand want I want my inspiration to be for the season. That way I have guide lines for a definite sense of style. I always like my inspiration to be unique, because I like to be out there, but you can choose your inspiration based on your interests.

2. What are considered fall looks?

I am not quite sure. My mother tells me it’s materials like suede and darker toned clothing, but I dress however all year round.

3. Is there any look or trend you want to sport for Fall?

I’ve noticed a lot of Alice and Wonderland influences on the Fall Ready to Wear runway and I am super excited to sport my interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.

How to achieve a great fall look?

Wear what you feel comfortable in. Sweaters are always good for fall. Layer your clothes. I love scarves, so add a cute scarf to your outfit.

What are considered fall looks?

Boyfriend jackets are in right now. You can dress an outfit up with a boyfriend jacket, or dress it down by wearing a plain white t-shirt underneath. Plaid shirts are also in. I love plaid. They go great with jeans, and leggings.

Is there any look or trend you want to sport for Fall?

Plaid shirts are my favorite. But I love sweaters because they are so comfortable. They look great with your favorite pair of leggings and some cute boots. I am also obsessed with leather jackets. It’s so rock n’ roll. I always wear mine with a plain v-neck tee and a bunch of necklaces

I grew up watching DAYS…and now there seems to be a whole new generation of younger ingenues. One you may have noticed is Taylor Spreitler, who plays Mia.

How to achieve a great fall look?

Color is a great way to get a fall look. Color trends for this fall are muted jewel tones in purple,deep pink and blue. Burgundy is replacing red. These colors are great when paired with gray or brown accessories.

What are considered fall looks?

Fall fashion is all about layering, jackets, sweaters, tights and my favorite, boots!

Is there any look or trend you want to sport for Fall?

I love boots so the new open toe boot is a must have and living in Los Angeles I can wear them and not freeze my toes off! Also loving the men’s hats and chunky bracelets.

A Cautionary Dressing Room Tale

I spent the weekend visiting a good friend of mine, and like any red-blooded females, we took advantage of Memorial Day sales and went shopping.

Our discovery? Never ever go to a dressing room after eating a huge lunch…all the food will still be in your belly!

The result? NOTHING fit us. Except stuff that resembled maternity dresses.

It was an abysmal abomination, and made me want to give up food forever. (Except I pigged out at a BBQ not five hours later.)

Lesson from this? Clearly, we are all attacked by inner demons while in the dressing room. We may not like what the (maybe faulty) mirror shows us, we may be trying on mis-sized clothing, or we may just be trying on something that’s not the right look for us! Do not add insult to the problem. Avoid shopping when you may be bloated, and try not to go directly after a big meal, or even when you have to use the rest room. Any of these factors may work against you!

4. Retro: Geek is Chic! 50’s retro, a la Johnny Depp, is one of the biggest emerging trends this year for male and female eyewear fashion.
5. Iconic Looks: You can’t go wrong with an authentic Ray-Ban, whether it’s the Wayfarer, Clubmaster or traditional Aviator. Putting your prescription into an iconic sunglass will ensure you always keep your cool look.
6. New Look, New You: Change your mindset about shopping for glasses. Bring a friend and try on lots of styles. Consider more than one pair and think “CPW” (cost per wear). You wear glasses everyday and your face is what people notice – it’s worth the investment.

About Those Bathing Suit Inserts ( Your Tip of the Day)

I know I’m jumping ahead here, but I’m thinking about the bathing suit I own and what it wrong with it. It came with foam inserts. Okay, most bathing suits come with them, but what you need to look for is a suit that has them sewn in. If they aren’t, they can shift and then just try to maneuver them back into place. And then I made the mistake of pulling it out to start again and it was a nightmare getting the entire insert into that tiny opening.

And oh yes… keep them small and thin. Wondering why?? Just go into the water, watch them soak up the swimming pool and then watch the direction they head.

So now you know.

Think that I shall toss that bathing suit before summer arrives and pick up A FEW more. A girl can’t have enough bathing suits. I just wish I lived in an area that would let you pretty much live in a bathing suit. Fond memories of Martinique are returning. A bathing suit, a pareo and a pair of flip flops and you were done for the day. I could get used to that.
