Behold the 50th anniversary Barbie Glamour Doll – featuring a modern rendition of the fashions featured on the original 1959 doll, in a beautiful glamour look designed by Richard Best.
This doll was in the gift bags at the Barbie Fashion Week event this year, and now lives on my mantle. A close friend even said she looks just like me…if I had been a Barbie. That was very exciting to hear!

Has Barbie been lying about her age?? I could have sworn that she has already passed the big 50, but according to this article, that particular birthday will take place NEXT YEAR!  And a birthday party it will be. I guess I’m in one of my decadent moods because I just picked out a design for a gown that I have no where to wear but I love it anyway. Actually I think that it reminds me of a Barbie Doll dress that my sister owned. There is just something so twenties about the dress and incredibly sexy!

And seeing that jewelry from the twenties is hot right now, I guess the dress works!
