This Spring, the edgy rock and roll look is very prevalent.
My favorite way to wear it is to mix the embellishments of the trend with features that are undeniably girly. A great example of this is Star Squadron Dress, currently available at Karmaloop.com for around $75.
This dress is a fitted jersey dress with metallic zipper front, but it’s topped off with an utterly adorable printed linen ruffled layers skirt.
I’ve spent the last few years of my life aspiring to be something of a rock goddess – this dress perfectly embodies that desire!

As I avoid doing any work – or rather shop and pretend it’s work – I keep coming across dresses with interesting interplays of black and white – colorblock but so much more, and I can’t help but swipe my credit card.
I was immediately smitten with Pleated Piano Dress because of the feminine chic formality of the cloth buttons on one side, eyelets on the other.
It’s “piano” because ivory white band details the center, punctuated with black cloth buttons. My favorite part though is the alternate black ruffles and ivory pleats.

A few months ago, I was at an event hosted by Stacy London that culminated in a private designer boutique, where we each got to choose one piece to be sent to us.
My choice came to me almost immediately.
Though there were many lovely looks, my immediate love was the Vava by Joy Han Jessica Long Dress in black from the fabulous Polkadots and Moonbeams boutique.
Perfect for my summer margarita hours, this dress is classically feminine but with a playful edge.
