Well, I am about to share a little something from one of my favorite stores in the history of…forever.

Throughout the month of October, Frederick’s is offering their best-selling bra, the Hollywood Exxtreme Cleavage, in a Pink Ribbon style.

That means it’s, well, pink (obviously), but also 20% of the sales from this item will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For those of you who don’t follow this stuff – 20% is a huge number. And a lot more than a lot of other companies are donating!

Why I love this design: It has removable push-up pads for a little or a lot of cleavage plus a deep-plunge front with “X” charm. PLUS It makes my boobs look hot and is now in baby pink. The end.

Iron Trivia…

Hand irons are device useds for garment pressing, irons have been heated directly by gas flame, stove plate heat, or in the case of the modern iron by electricity. Henry W Seely patented the electric iron in 1882.

“Metal pans filled with charcoal were used for smoothing fabrics in China in the 1st century BC. From the 17th century, sadirons or sad irons (from an old word meaning solid) began to be used. They were thick slabs of cast iron, delta-shaped and with a handle, heated in a fire. A later design consisted of an iron box which could be filled with hot coals, which had to be periodically aerated by attaching a bellows. This type was on sale in the USA until at least 1902.” And I thought that I had it bad!

More modern irons known as “sad” irons, because the irons were real heavy. Guess that would make any housewife sad. No, seriously, the word sad meant heavy then. Good ole slang, always changing, you know that. But this is where we get the word “sad” from. Ironing was a chore to the housewife, making her feel unhappy. The word “sad” took on a new meaning.
