Shiseido Gives Back to Cancer and Careers

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, various beauty and fashion companies are partnering with charities around the world that benefit breast cancer awareness, research, support and treatment. Throughout the month of October, we are highlighting these special breast cancer awareness products at Splendicity. We hope you will keep some of these items in mind as you shop throughout the month. It’s a terrific way to give back to a worthwhile cause, while buying amazing clothes, accessories, makeup and other beauty products.

Shiseido Cosmetics is again partnering with Cancer and Careers, the philanthropic arm of Cosmetics Executive Women (CEW), for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In support of this initiative, Shiseido will donate $5 for every unit of Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Peony (PK305), sold throughout the month of October to the organization.

Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color is the newest creation from Dick Page, Shiseido Artistic Director. Launching September 2009, this eyeshadow retails for $25.00 and is available online at shiseido.com and in store at select Dillard’s locations.

L’Oreal Visible Lift… Line Minimizing & Tone Enhancing

I was thumbing through the latest issue of Chatelaine this morning and on the first page was an ad for Visible Lift by L’Oreal. It’s a liquid foundation that contains Pro-Retinol A, Hyaluronic and a serum complex that L’Oreal added for good measure. Well, that’s all fine and good, but does it work? But here’s an interesting claim. THEY SAY… that is visible reduces lines by 33%… not up to 33% percent which could mean anything at all, but BY 33%.

So, I want some reviews from you.
*What is the texture… thin, thick, just right?
*How does it blend?
*How is the coverage?
*Did it affect your skin in a bad way??

Theres a lot of things that I like about this little compact. First of all, you can decide how much coverage you want… dry gives you a more sheer coverage, while a damp sponge gives you a more velvety coverage. Then there is the fact that you can pop the compact into your bag for quick touch-ups and the fact that Cargo even helps you to choose the right color. Bobbi Brown Copper Shimmer Brick Collection

This is a limited edition compact so if you want it, get it while there are still some left. I have been using these brick collections for a few years now and you get so much mileage out of them and I especially like the fact that they are using a copper for the holidays. Even though we didn’t try to tan this summer, we probably picked up a little color but now it’s all gone. A little of this on a big fat brush will give us that healthy look all over again. (And it looks especially gorgeous on the eyes)
